"Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy" is, for whatever reason, on Amazon Prime.

Just watched 'Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations'. He's in Namibia with the bushmen of the Kalahari. He's eating deer or warthog rectum. Yuk.

@flah1984 Yup, there'll be 104 games in total in 2026 with 48 teams compared to 64 with 32 teams. The two finalists will have played one more match more than any other team in World Cup tournament history as they'll have to play eight matches as opposed to seven in the 32 teams format.

@brucemillington @NickRTFM Don't think people realise how many extra awful group games there are due to the expanded tournament. A huge group stage to cut it down to still 32

@brucemillington ...and don't forget there are new rules about time-wasting as well as VAR tweaks. Not mentioned here in this summary, but is in the linked article, is that only captains can approach referees. Anybody else who does so will get an automatic yellow card. soccergraph.com/2026/04/new-ru…

@NickRTFM It’ll be utter shit. Group stage full of dull games as underdogs park the bus. Star names knackered so few epic moments. Ridiculous nonsense like a half-time concert during the final. And of course VAR doing its thing.

Natalie Portman has replaced Reese Witherspoon in "Pale Blue Dot"? Best of luck. FYI: Never knew that there is a minimum & a maximum height requirement at NASA to be an astronaut. You can be as short as 4'10.5" (148cm) but no taller than 6'4" (193cm). #nobasketballplayersinspace

Watching "NHK Newsline" about the Japanese hospitality industry particularly the food service sector which is already struggling to find workers have been further hit by their government's decision to limit the number of non-Japanese allowed (only 50k allowed!?) to work in Japan.

I know that Japan are making it more difficult for non-Japanese people wanting to go there & work as the rules are tighter. Working conditions over in South Korea aren't great for non-Koreans. Here's an episode of "Asia Insight" on NHK World about that. www3.nhk.or.jp/nhkworld/en/sh…

I'm getting "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" vibes about this in that it could reinvent its source material from generic genre fare into something that's more substantial. "Popeye" as you've never seen him!? If the story matches the visuals then yeah! twitter.com/catsuka/status…

Hmmm. Trying to cope with forever having been a child actor from a well known horror related movie or TV show can be both a blessing & a burden. theguardian.com/film/2021/jun/…

Portia de Rossi is a fabulous ice queen (see the underrated 'Better Off Ted' as proof). Eddie Izzard & Jerry O'Connell are a bit 'young'.

This is it... youtu.be/k3Wxg8j9j7A?si… ...altought I swear that there's a fun silly one with either a glockenspiel/xylophone in it that just has "Lupin Lupin! Lupin!" sprinkled sporadically throughout its 2-3 minutes length somewhere which I can't find.

All I can find is this which is alright but I think it was mostly a jazz orchestra & it had no singing or lyrics. youtube.com/watch?v=9PQRrI… We're probably due a 'gentleman thief' revival. Robin Hood was never that. "Hustle" & "Leverage" were kinda that. "Mordecai" was just awful.

Finally watched 'Mortdecai'...oh dear. MVP!? Paul Bettany. Barely any overlap with 'Lupin' & more akin to 'Gambit'. Art heist flicks eh!?

Wild if true. 👀🤷🏻‍♂️ The thing is though as much as hardcore fans don't want to admit but Chris has deliberately avoided most film & TV work recently concentrating on his stand-up comedy, & Jackie is too old to do some of the physical & spectacular stunts. x.com/Variety/status…

It's the 35th anniversary of "Wheels on Meals" which some may remember for the fight scene between Jackie Chan & Benny "The Jet" Urquidez. Have been watching the English dub which is 15 minutes shorter & has a completely different soundtrack. Hmmm. 🤔🤷‍♂️ en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wheels_on…

Well...Reese, & now Charlize are walking back their comments. AI remains a threat but only if studios are on board. I've stated it before but Disney are interested even with the termination of their deal with OpenAI as they'll go again sooner than later. x.com/i/status/20471…

#CharlizeTheron says she was “talking out of my ass” after predicting AI “will be able to do the job” of actors like Timothée Chalamet in 10 years: “Honestly, I talked out of my ass. I don’t know what’s going to happen in ten years, okay? Nobody does. But I assume that a living, live performance would be hard [to replicate]. And then someone’s like, ‘There’s a dancing robot in Hong Kong’ — but he’s not Misty Copeland.” Theron stars alongside #TaronEgerton in the new Netflix movie “Apex,” which begins streaming April 24.

There will be some who will churlishly state that "The Hustler" is the best poker movie ever made but for me, "Rounders" will always have a place in my heart. Absolute lightning in a bottle that movies involving poker afterwards have struggled to match. twitter.com/briankoppelman…

Watching "Molly's Game" thanks to Rakuten. Not gonna lie...was interested for how it covered poker. Poor time management means I've gotta watch it within the next ten hours or it's gone. The dialogue? Very Aaron Sorkin. Rat-a-tat-tat. Jessica Chastain's narrative? Rat-a-tat-tat.
