I am legitimately terrified of getting older, to the point where I have semi-regular nightmares about it honestly - probably largely cos I don’t feel like I’ve achieved anywhere near as much as I should have/thought I would have by this stage in life - is there a name for this? I've built a playbook for growing YouTube channels... We signed two large channels last Q4 to our consulting agency. One is up 350% in monthly views, the other is up 500%. So f*ck it... here's a super quick summary of our playbook. It's surprisingly simple. 🧵 Foundation phase 1. Make sure correct team members are in place - Hire talent if needed or train existing team/creator. 2. Start researching the niche, identifying outlier ideas. 3. Crunch data on client's channel, see if there's anything to build upon. Any previous outlier ideas. 4. Establish ''vision'' for editing style and thumbnail style + overall channel tone. Experimentation phase 5. Using insights from research, brainstorm 100+ ideas, pick 5 to try out. Test out new thumbnail and editing changes. 6. Observe results, learn more about channel and audience. Win or learn. Growth Phase 7. Double down on 1-3 buckets that are working and brainstorm more. 8. Improve every part of the content (Scripting, Editing, Audio, Thumbnails, Titles) with each upload. 9. Establish feedback loop through form of a monthly learnings and data report 10. Grow into the future, work on all ideas together, meet monthly to reflect on progress and steer the ship! Obviously in practice there's a lot more to it... but it's all just simple steps, but the right steps. There's no silver bullet. This is just hard work and obsession from my team and the amazing clients we work with! A few months ago I moved to the USA after 27 years in Europe. As a creator and founder, here's a few random thoughts: 1) USA is a country of extremes, the best and the worst, in every category. 2) There are simply way more creators/entrepreneurs in America. Especially in the big cities. 3) People and institutions take creators more seriously here. Even things like getting a mortgage in Europe is hard as a creator. 4) Money seems to matter way more here, people talk about it more, care about it more. Sometimes feels a bit shallow. 5) People spend more money, less frugal than Europe for sure. 6) Creators here on average seem more growth and business focused than a lot of EU creators. 7) Americans like to complain about it, but tax is significantly lower here than most of Europe. 8) There's a real motivating and encouraging feel in the air in America, and it's pretty infectious. 9) I'm going to trigger people with this, but the average driving standard in USA is significantly lower than in Europe. I can't believe the things I see on the roads. 10) Americans are way better at selling themselves, we're terrible at this in Europe, particularly Ireland haha. 11) I've rarely felt unsafe in a big European City, quickly learned you need to be much more careful here. 12) Flights are so expensive, a 3 hour flight can cost $1k, in Europe I'm used to spending $100. 13) The service I've got here, from restaurants, to business services, to events etc. is just on a whole other level to most of Europe. 14) That said though, the general quality of life in Europe feels better, Europe feels ''richer'' - roads, city centers etc. Overall I loved Europe, and love America too. If you live in either of these places, you are luckier than 99% of people who have ever lived.

One other thing I would add… there’s way more creator events here. Dinners, conferences, meet ups Why are there so few in Europe!?
