In 1944 Wild launched the Wild T4 Theodolite. It had a direct reading of 0,01" and was used to determine geographic coordinates ( first order astronomy)

@Geoterra_Mark £79 million (and rising) spent on maintenance of this road since 2007. Perhaps if some of that money had been invested in a permanent solution back then instead of the usual temporary "make do and mend" these closures, and the huge inconvenience caused, wouldn't occur every year.
