Just been told I’ve been nominated for a patient award. I remember this patient and didn’t think I did anything exceptional other than try and talk to them! Just goes to show a large part of medicine is just being a decent person rather than passing multiple random exams!

@salltweets i dont think it’s nonsense to point out that the practice is dramatically overmedicalized and estranged from our organic relationship with our bodies

everything about birthing culture is wrong. babies should be had at home in beds and baths, not fluorescent hospital rooms. the process should be organic, unmediated by chemical or surgical help and unassociated with the dread and pain it often is today.
