#anipoke One thing people overlook is that, starting with Sinnoh, the anime has established that 90% of the League Trainers are average at best. And Ash didn't face rivals that were equals to him until the very end. This happens with Alola too, so I wouldn't say it was easy.

These are the first that come to mind, not in a particular order. NOTE. I'm referring to Pokémon as a whole, not just Journeys.

@Precita85 @RewindStraight While not abusive, Anime Lusamine is a woman who tries to get in her daughter's life after disappearing for years, and talks to her like if she's still 5. Lillie has every right to be mad. Furthermore, her job has been the priority over Lillie's emotional health. That's terrible.

@RewindStraight Yeah, it's actually why I see Lillie and her story a huge step down from the game version. Lusamine being evil would have been too much for the SM anime to pull off

Having finally played the SM games recently for myself and seeing how vastly different anime Lusamine is from game Lusamine, it’s kinda odd how the anime kept the “I hate you” moment with Lillie considering anime Lusamine is loving, doting, and WAY less emotionally volatile lol

@chahut2805 @ToonHive Well, there is a recap movie, but it's not worthy except for the last 10 minutes, where it does give the story a new ending. You should watch all 13 episodes and then the movie.

It gets better after the introduction of Mercurimon, but like I said it's still inconsistent: 1) Yoshino is useless; 2) Masaru and Tohma's conflict isn't believable; 3) 2 out of 3 Bio-Digimon don't have a plausible...

@1angela_paca @Mootmonthly @ForestWitchVina It's said that the Digimon reflect their owner, but that only means they have similiarities. It doesn't justify how bland they are, especially because in the past Digimon used to have more distinctive traits (despite being ultimately a development device for the humans).

@Mootmonthly @DavideAlterio @ForestWitchVina Yeah but I think it's also the point because in this series... The digimon are a mirror of the person and also they do have characterization tbh and at least they got personality... UNLIKE HORIZONS UNFORTUNATELY.

Currently watching Digimon Beatbreak This series is actually pretty peak

@ForestWitchVina @Mootmonthly I like Beatbreak too. It combines the best aspects of Tamers and Savers, and it's arguably the most consistent Digimon series in terms of character writing. My issue is the Digimon's characterization, however. Except Gekkomon, they're all pretty forgettable.

5D's and ZEXAL. 5D's is the most consistent in terms of story, while ZEXAL has the best written characters.

#anipoke POKÉMON. Duels and Battles are equally well used to convey the story's themes, even if ones are more complex. However, Pokémon ultimately surpasses Yu-Gi-Oh! in terms of character writing, which makes for more compelling subplots despite the story's semplicity on paper.

#Pokémon That would be achieved within (approximately) 90 more Generations, which equal to 300 or 400 years from now. I'm not joking.
