Let's talk about @TAKEALOT The retailer made a loss of $13 million in the last six months at a margin of -3%. This implies $433m revenue. Margin in prior period was -1%. No profits. Just market share stolen from e.g. Massmart and economic value destroyed in the retail sector.

As far as I am concerned, that letter by the CEO of Dischem was racial and devisive. Racial qoutus contributed to our current economic woes. Hire South Africans on Merit, and focus on investment in training where you experience weaknesses.

I suspect that many white South Africans shared my view in the 90s that excessive pursuit of prosecutions for apartheid crimes would harm "reconciliation". I now believe that I was wrong. Proper completion of the TRC mission could have allowed a deeper healing.
