Head coach Rob Vaughn on North Alabama natives Peyton Steele, Evan Steckmesser, and JT Blackwood playing in front of their home crowd tonight:
"You know, you want to make sure that they don't try to do too much. You know, sometimes when you get back in front of your home crowd, you almost try to do too much. I think that happened to Adkins a little bit on their side. He's a Bob Jones kid, like, man, he's got ability. He's just a young pup, but he's going to be really good. I thought he was just a little over him, but I thought our guys did a good job of just going and managing the energy and keeping it in the right place. And Peyton had some really good swings. I don't know what he finished with hits on the night, but man just took some really good swings. Good to see him back, kind of going right there because we're going to need him down the stretch here. Steckmesser was outstanding. JT's start was great. So happy for them."
