@colonfrank91 This one of my favorite movies. I read in one of the class readings that Cuarón wanted to have it set in the future but still be relatable. I thought that the movie conveyed a dying planet (remnants of war, a dull grey landscape) perfectly.

My favorite film this semester was the one we began with: Fritz Lang's "M". It was suspenseful and at the end I found myself questioning what my reaction would be if I was part of the kangaroo court. Does exacting revenge on killers like Beckert reduce us to his level? #cm316

@DaryllEsposito Hi Daryl,
This scene says so many things all at once: "don't expect me to do anything about it because it doesn't affect me". He is telling her that he doesn't care because his privilege allows him to maintain his position.

#cm316 This is a bit late but I highly recommend #WhatWeDointheShadows. It is ridiculous fun that lets you unwind.

Another series I recommend is Killing Eve. Highly entertaining with a great cast

@RobbinMarx I also used these films for a comparison but did not think of the age aspect. Great catch!

@awestley_ Hi Arianna,
I'm also planning on researching more about M. The film definitely has a profound effect on audiences with its carefully placed scenes; such as the one you picked, where the audience knows the fate of the child and the mother doesn't. Good luck with the paper!

Doing my final project for #cm316 on montages & the difference between Fritz Lang's M and Vera Cheytilova's Daisies. It's such a versatile and powerful tool that can evoke such drastically different responses. This is from the beginning of the most notable montage in M.

@virtualcasey Hi Professor,
Sorry for the late reply! I intend to compare and contrast Se7en, The Silence of the Lambs and Psycho.
