honestly the formula for good CBMs is so simple 1. Take inspiration from an already existing material (All Star Superman, Supergirl: WoT, Batman: TAS) 2. Find a good writer to translate it to film format (Gunn, Ana, Flanagan) 3. Find a director (Gunn, Gillespie, Watkins)
