You should focus on getting a steady income to take care of yourself and you can gradually be growing an audience by doing covers and freestyles.
I strongly believe that if you can’t grow an audience with your covers and freestyles you have no business in investing in music. Why are you investing in a business when there’s no customer to buy your stuffs.

These artists fell off because they refused to play the modern music promotion game. If you don’t have a big budget to pay influencers to push your music, you need a gimmick that will give you virality. Yall calling Omah Lay a mad man but his depression gimmick is making people to listen to his music. Odumodublvck dey scatter internet every other day to keep his name in yall heads. If you don’t have marketing budget you need to learn how to make people think about you at all times to keep your music relevant. Talent is not enough these days.
