On March 26, 2026, detectives served a search warrant on Charleston Blvd. As a result 447 grams of meth, 103 grams of fentanyl, 72 grams of crack, and 184 grams of an unknown powder was recovered. A 37-year-old male was arrested for possession of drugs and trafficking in drugs.

Detectives served a search warrant on Rustic Road and in Vandalia in relation to the same investigation. Recovered: 553.5 grams of fentanyl 84 grams of meth 2.5 grams of crack 5 grams of unknown pills 2 pistols $11,000 The suspect will be facing federal charges.

On March 14, 2026, an officer saw a car turn the wrong way on a one-way street. The officer noticed the smell of alcohol and burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle. A 30-year-old male and a 23-year-old male were arrested for Improper Handling Firearms youtu.be/gLo_ePiE5Ns

Officers Sack and Rolfes helped out at an after school program Involving Scholars of Hope at Fairview Elementary. The officers assisted with holding a relay race with the kids as part of this event as well.

We Remember: Officer William 'Steve' Whalen. Officer Whalen was fatally shot on Xenia Ave. He tried to stop a vehicle wanted in connection to a shooting. The driver started shooting. Officer Whalen returned fire before he was shot and killed. End of Watch: 3/22/1991

Det Miniard saw the driver go past him with a cell phone in hand. Det. Miniard then saw the driver put his seat belt on. During the investigation it was determined that a field sobriety test would be administered. The driver was subsequently arrested for OVI.

On March 16, detectives served a search warrant on Blanche Ave. More than 3300 grams of marijuana were recovered along with 54 grams of fentanyl, 18 grams of crack cocaine, an AR pistol and SIG Sauer handgun. A 50-year-old male will face charges stemming from this investigation.
