Why the Philadelphia 76ers are a terrible fit for LeBron James. 1. He has to play PF. In my opinion, LeBron’s real edge comes from the fact that he can play like a point guard. He can bother smaller guard matchups with his length. As a guard LeBron is a mismatch. As a PF, he has to defend and rebound, especially when Embiid isn’t there. 2. Injuries Joel Embiid is certainly worth playing with, when healthy. I think his knee is cooked ngl. 3. Play Style Even if LeBron plays as a PG with Jaylen, Maxey, VJ and Embiid playing off ball, he’s gonna have to dump it into the post and watch as Embiid makes his moves. People think this is a good thing but those isos happen too often, and early in the shot clock. If they want to win, they need to have good ball movement and spacing, like the Celtics. If they deploy that style, the entire scenario changes, but I don’t see the Sixers doing that. 4. Experience How many NBA champions on this Sixers team? Two. That’s solid, but JB wasn’t the best player on his team, which makes a huge difference. And the rest of the team has actually been playing losing basketball despite having more talent. Compare that to the Warriors and the Heat who have consistently proven people wrong with less talent as the underdogs. 5. Philly fans are about to be awful. In my opinion, Philadelphia, LA and New York fans criticize their players more than any other fan base. Lakers fans still value the regular season, but Knicks and 76ers fans can be god awful to their own team. I wouldn’t want to be a part of that personally, especially in year 23 lol. If LeBron James wants to win with the Philadelphia 76ers, they need to take the Boston Celtics offence and use it here. Jaylen Brown is perfect for that. Otherwise, I don’t see them beating the Knicks. Maybe the Heat, Pacers and Raptors too, depending on how they look.
