Congratulations to Morgan Fambrough, Malik Alexander-Dunham and Julen Fernandez who officially cleared their one year of probation! They received their “firefighter badge” and were pinned by Chief Allen at last night’s City Commission meeting.

Today, we honor one of our own! After 20 years of service, John O’Connor is retiring from the department, and it just so happens to be his birthday. Thank you for your service to the @CityofDeLand!

TRUCK TALK! Thank you to Citrus Grove Elementary School for having us over for a Public Education Truck Talk. FF Morgan Fambrough had a blast showing the kids the truck and the equipment.

VEHICLE FIRE: This morning, the crew from E81 responded to a vehicle fire on the city’s Southwest side. An abandoned U-Haul was located in the woods off Vermont Avenue. Crews were able to extinguish the fire. No injuries.

The #Landscam wildfire in Volusia County near Tiger Bay is estimated at 3 acres at this time. Eastbound US 92 at Landscam is closed temporarily.

@FFS_Bunnell wildland firefighters are on scene of another wildfire in Volusia County off of IS 92 near Tiger Bay State Forest. Unknown acreage at this time. Will provide updates as made available.

#TRAININGTUESDAY: This week, our crews are working alongside other departments for trench rescue training. This is a highly technical skill requires specialized training and equipment.
