Survivorship bias makes many optimize their job search the wrong way but to get hired it's simple: Be great. Be relevant. Make it obvious you're both. 10 years ago, I was an underground miner in Aus trying to break into talent acquisition. I wasn’t selling them my imaginary “people skills” from talking to rocks. I sold grit and work ethic which were the parts that would translate. Before that, I looked into mining when I was working in film. There was zero relevance to translate so I built it via a quick construction job. If you’re not relevant yet, dig deeper or create the link yourself. Everyone wants to be further along, but progress starts where you actually are. Not where you wish you were.

@0xluude Sad to hear.. Been in BD for 10 years and can’t imagine that 🤯 That’s the problem - too many think looks and talk are enough to be good bd/sales. Degen mindset and hoping the next move pays the bills doesn't help either with being professional.

Imagine paying your BD person >$100k per year (more like $150k) and they don't respond in group chats and need to be ping'd internally to respond to partners The amount of incompetence and outright fucking around in this industry is amazing
