This was Marine Sgt. Tyler Ziegel and his new wife in October 2006. Do they look like hapoy newlyweds? Look at his face, look at her face. She soon divorced him, not being able to deal with his disfigurement. Ziegel tried to make life work, but the VA failed him, paying substantially less than he needed and deserved. His injuries went beyond his appearance, and holding a normal job was impossible. Ziegel died on December 26, 2012, from an overdose of alcohol and morphine. You could make the argument that his life ended when he was deployed. If you ask why I'm being a hippy about war, look no further than Sgt. Tyler Ziegel.
