Remember this in-depth analysis when there was talk Nas might head to SA last year? No, me either. The barracking by the footy media is so unedifying & transparent - even down to the jumper he’s wearing in the accompanying photo. National competition? Give it a spell.

Ten to one. Which is the best Vic destination club for Zak Butters? Which club might need a helicopter to get it done, which one might only pay him $1.5m a year, which one can’t afford him, which one ticks his No.1 box which is about contending?

@gerrick54 @malcolmconn Seems a pattern here with WA players. Eastern States media want to see their darlings get their position in the team. Same thing happened to Damien Martyn for half of his career.

@1116sen Yep. And the Swans-Giants clash is now the best “local derby” in the AFL. Victorians, WA and SA fans won’t agree - but they’re kidding themselves

@MarkoMatvikov He’s right though, win the centre and win the election. Right wingers will always vote for right parties and Left wingers will always vote for left parties. It’s the 25 percent who don’t have an allegiance that decide elections.

“Australia is a sensible nation.. We are centrists as Australians. And if you run off into la la land.. well then you find yourself running second to Pauline Hanson.” Sounds to me like Malcolm is saying Pauline is more centrist than the Liberals. Perhaps the first time I’ve ever agreed with the ex PM that never goes away.

@voodoohanok People in the eastern states are such hypocrites. You use the exact same complaints to ensure shitty start times for all games in Perth.

@VinceRugari The start. I mean no offense to WA football, but which genius decide to try and revive this concept with a Vic vs WA game, instead of a Vic vs SA game?

@Mehyouthink @KenBuzzins @VinceRugari With that argument, why aren’t the other states invited to play RL state of origin? That’s cos they are shit. WA is the only state that can compete with Vic.

Such a shame that group pictures like this do not happen in cricket World Cups anymore. Teams come at different time, play some warmups, get going with the tournament and sometimes they don’t even see most teams and players. Cricket used to be so different before.
