@DeadDoctorsColl They matter A LOT . Especially in my side of the world. Prevention is better than cure. Getting infected as an adult is a different scenario but getting infected in your early childhood is a whole another scenario. Why would you risk your kid's life?

Although quarantine also may be applied to the healthy population who MAY have been exposed, for the duration of the incubation period of the disease. Not necessarily likely 🫂

@DeadDoctorsColl Isolation is when you're an infected (positive) individual and are isolated from people who aren't infected. Quarantine is when you've been exposed and are likely to show symptoms . This is the definition I'm aware of.

Did you know that even before covid the concepts of isolation and quarantine existed? While I don't necessarily agree with the disorganized manner in which things were done, they simply followed known epidemiological methodologies. What's the diff btw isolation and quarantine?

A very fatal but fairly rare disease called Crimean Congo Hemorrhagic Fever has had an outbreak in Iraq recently, I mention it as it's a rare occurrence and has a case fatality rate of 40%! It's transmitted by liquids and contact with infected cattle and livestock!
