It is important to us that we continue to be able to viably access good education, healthcare services and access to job markets of metropolitan areas. Without proximity to societal advancements we neither can benefit from it nor contribute to it.

Ease of 'meaningful integration' is the appropriate way forward in terms of governance in our modern age. Governance that makes things more difficult for those on the fringes of society is governance that fails to deal with the root of so much anguish experienced by many people.

What’s terrifying about stories like this is how many never come to light, probably tens of thosands. When victims are silenced by fear, stigma, or even death, the truth disappears with them. Abuse of power in war zones has happened far too many times, especially by USA troops and without accountability those screams never reach the world.
