This is how mad Youth rugby is 120 boys selected for Dragons RAGs Under 18’s. Bargoed Youth best youth side in Dragons Region struggling to find games not one player selected. That’s how messed up Welsh Rugby is so tell me what players are the coaches watching?

@coco19653 Yeah 100% I seen it 18 years ago when taking my brother. You could see the parents arse licking the coaches and I still see it now with my boy. There’s people within the set ups that ain’t got a clue about rugby and only there coz they sponsors or arse lick their way in.

@Deancallow8 It's who you know not what you know probably the academy coaches as never played the game but got a degree in sport science ??

@Deancallow8 Yep, remember all them. They might have known me as ‘Pigeon’ back then 😀Saw Lyn Horsman a few years ago in the Capel when I was back visiting. Was in there with Kevin Hughes, also sadly departed now.

@Deancallow8 Played cricket in the 80s with a Glen Callow at Brithdir. Any relation by any chance?

@maybethiseason It starts with EPP at 15’s then Dewar 16’s then colleges/schools after that I think. Boys are integrated in to the system, some go all the way through it some are let go and others drafted in. The dragons 18’s got 3 16’s boys in it which have been identified early.

@Deancallow8 Doesn’t it go from schools first? Hence the academy schools as Newport high school, Coleg gwent etc?

@Deancallow8 Same in the schools set up. Players picked because dad is the coach or because all play at the same club.

@clivegurner1 It’s strange how none of them have been recognised this year when they are having such a good season and struggling to get fixtures.

@Deancallow8 I was going to say I know there's 45 boys in there now penallta played Bargoed youth beginning of the season in a friendly on a Tuesday night up Bargoed big crowd for a local Derby they are still the best team we have played this season 👍

@clivegurner1 It’s been cut to 45 boys now I believe the figure was from the original selection which fed the amber and blacks teams so I’m led to believe.
