Ah! Found a bug! Got robbed by bandits and apart from stealing a load of pepper (which is fine coz it's what they do) they also stole 198.770141 coins - which is a little bit more precise than your average central asian bandit ought to be! That's one for the morning, I think!

Another golden oldie: Manic Miner (1983) always reminded me a bit of Lode Runner (released in the same year). You control Miner Willy, a prospector who gets trapped in an abandoned mine filled with 20 single-screen caverns. In each cavern, you must collect all the flashing keys/objects while avoiding collision with enemies. Simple premise but brutally hard game. Matthew Smith created the game by himself, he was 17 years at the time and only needed a few weeks. The amount of genius necessary to do so is beyond me. You hear so many stories about how early 80s games were often solo projects, yet managed to capture a whole generation of gamers. Manic Miner belongs in that category. The whole game is roughly the kilobyte-size of a modern desktop icon on your PC; in other words: tiny!

This game is FINISHED. Going to play it for a while and see how it feels in the deep stages - might want some balancing there. Variables may be changed but nothing's going to be added (despite having 7 or 8 bytes spare!) 🐫
