Finished Episode 8 Chopper’s Brain Point ✅ Chopper’s Walk Point ✅ Chopper’s Heavy Point … 😨 Some of the costumes and makeup in the show were definitely… a little less than ideal haha I get why Heavy Point and Dalton were just in makeup and suits for their transformation, but those practical effects definitely need work 😂 Some of the casting choices weren’t completely perfect either, meaning they had to change how scenes played out and remove certain aspects, like Alvida—but nothing that actually changes the story overall Sanji was turned into a hopeless romantic and seems more or less filtered for a Western audience. That said, to play devil’s advocate, I CAN see how a lot of writing/humour that would usually work in an anime wouldn’t necessarily work as well in live action. In manga/anime you’re able to exaggerate almost everything, whereas live action just wouldn’t have the same vibe/energy. So I could see a very compelling argument for some things being complicated to translate and why some things were softened There were missed scenes from the anime/manga, plus slightly altered scenes all throughout, likely for budget and time constraints. Definitely some that many would have liked to see. THAT SAID, they had to cover 154 chapters in 16 episodes! (Season 1 & 2) Like, no giant snow bunnies at all—just a straight skip to climbing the mountain. The flag should have also been on top of the castle, and I thought it was underwhelming how Luffy put it where he did. Stuff like that But for the few things they got wrong or slightly less than hoped… they got SO much right. The cinematography is freaking amazing and grandiose The scenes and props are phenomenal and way above what I expected The casting is almost perfect. Almost every choice feels like the actor was born for the role, and I mean that. A lot of the acting is incredible too—Katey Sagal as Dr. Kureha was objectively perfect in my opinion, but so are so, so many others: Zoro, Luffy, Smoker, Crocodile, Robin, Usopp, Nami, Hiriluk, Dalton, Wapol, Dorry, Brogy, etc. Chopper’s Heavy Point practical effect needs work, but his CGI regular form and Walk Point are so fucking cute and—despite my initial worry—his voice acting was great and really fit in my opinion A lot of the fighting scenes are amazing, and it’s not just a bunch of useless men getting killed and thrown around either. Zoro is out there beating the shit out of fuckin everybody 😭 He’s handing out equality more than anyone I’ve ever seen. Honestly felt like they never held back in a lot of ways that surprised me Chopper and Hiriluk’s backstory episode was PERFECT. An incredible episode They captured virtually all of the most important story notes perfectly despite the time and budget constraints Silly little things like Luffy with the chopsticks in his mouth were great, and when Usopp was complimented by the giant—HE DID THE FACE SO WELL 😭😭😭 Guys, it’s not the anime and don’t go into it expecting the anime. However, so many moments brought back memories, and a little bit of that feeling I had the first time I experienced One Piece when I was younger (especially when Chopper and Hiriluk were watching the ocean) It’s not the anime, and it’s not perfect, but damn would I be a liar if I said it was bad. Keep your mind open and try to enjoy it for what it is and I think you’ll have fun Pleasantly surprised… though I do understand the criticism as well ❤️ Easily the best live-action adaptation I have ever seen and I hope they get even more right in Season 3!

DLSS 5 haters are straight up clowns 💀 You screamed for realism for 20 years. Now it literally matches the real reference model closer than the original Resident Evil character ever did… …and you’re still whining. Turn it off and cope harder.

A solid 8/10. S1 was overall better (9/10), especially with the climactic battle, but S2 still delivered strongly, and nailed the heart yet again. Chopper's backstory cut a lot of onions, as it ought to. The visual scale is bigger and some of the action, especially with Zoro is even better (Episode 3's Zoro vs 100). I need season 3 now!!!

YES! I don't get the hate he got this Season. Inaki was killing it when the opportunity arrived.

You guys just had to make him so adorable to punish us even further. So many onions... His monster form, though, does leave a bit to be desired. Understandably from a production perspective, it had to be done that way with prosthetics, but the face does look weird, NGL. Still, great job overall. :)

@DDayCobra I still prefer S1 overall, but S2 delivered nonetheless. Chopper's portion was the most crucial to nail (especially the backstory), like Nami in S1 (backstory and "Help me, Luffy" scene), and they did it again. Man, I really want season 3 now. I want ALABASTA!!!

I enjoyed Season 1 more BUT Season 2 was still really entertaining, bigger in scale (aptly since they are no in the grand line) and delivered the most important heart segement - Chopper's Backstory - superbly. Season 3 is going to be all about Alabasta and I cannot wait (hopefully it won't take 3 years).

Nami's story was the most crucial part to nail in Season 1 and they did. Chopper's story was the most crucial part to nail in Season 2 and they did. Damn onions!

@Yassonim I wouldn't say much better. Both Seasons looked great. But Season 2 had some amazing shots of scale.
