@DeathReviews Maybe cancel it before you spend millions rather than spend Millions making a pilot you are to ashamed to air.
The X-Files is an IP of its time that is perhaps best left in its time. 'Truth' is now way stranger than much of its "fictional" truths now anyway.
Gillian Anderson says Ryan Coogler's pilot script for his 'X-Files' series is 'really good'
“Have an open mind and give it a chance because it’s going to be f***ing cool ... It's different, and it's special"
It also features at least one race-swapped character.
Are you going to give it a chance?
@mellon_heads There's a reason why most media depictions skipped those chapters. If they chapters that have a self-contained story that's full of action, drama, and character development, then "The Journey Home" and "Scouring of the Shire" chapters are the ones they should focus on.
🚨 BREAKING NEWS 🚨
Peter Jackson is teaming up with Stephen Colbert to create a NEW Lord of the Rings movie!
This will be centered around the 6 chapters early in the Fellowship of the Ring that weren't developed in Peter Jacksons movies from "Three Is Company" to "Fog on the Barrow-Downs".
This is going to be canon with Peter Jacksons lore. Phillipa Boyens is assisting developing the story. @warnerbros is the studio at the helm!
@fandompulse Arrogant actors trying to shame, guilt, threaten, bully, brow-beat, and emotionally blackmail viewers into watching their crummy show is one of the reasons those viewers turned their backs on you.
Starfleet Academy actress Gina Yashere reacts to the show's cancellation:
"Obviously, gutted. I thought we made an amazing show. The first season was fantastic. ... And Season 2 is even better. ...
Obviously, the world is still not ready to hear the message of love, peace, infinite diversity, acceptance, the eschewing of violence and senseless wars. We're not ready to hear that message yet, and hopefully one day we will be. And Star Trek will be back stronger than ever. And preferably with the same message and not completely white washed."
Do you agree with her?
@mellon_heads I think audiences are going to be baffled since those chapters revolve mostly around the Hobbits journey through the Old Forest, being trapped by Old Man Willow, partying with Bombadil, and getting lost in the Barrow Downs. There's a reason why most media skip those chapters...
Colbert stated that he wanted to be completely faithful to the books while also staying completely faithful to the movies.
So does this mean that we will have the four Hobbit actors returning? If so, I'm sure they will have to be completely de-aged using CGI.
Or will we have new actors playing these parts? I'm very curious how this is going to work.
@IGN Well that makes it all worthwhile then, doesn't it? Sure the franchise has been trashed, everyone thinks it should be retired, but thank goodness ONE puppeteer says that maybe in 10 years or so, people might remember his work fondly.
The puppeteer behind Star Wars droid BB-8 has said Disney's divisive sequel trilogy will eventually become as beloved as the saga's prequels — in around a decade's time. bit.ly/47j9e2X

@TolkienWorldG Sigh. If they want a movie for some chapters that weren't properly covered? Which have a self-contained story that's full of intrigue, drama, and action? The RotK chapters "Journey Home" and "Scouring of the Shire" are the low-hanging fruit they should be grabbing for.
@DiscussingFilm If they really want another film, the chapters “The Journey Home” and “Scouring of the Shire” are low hanging fruit that would let them follow the original writing and be an excellent standalone movie.
A sequel movie to the ‘LORD OF THE RINGS’ trilogy is officially in the works.
Plot synopsis — 14 years after the passing of Frodo, Sam, Merry, and Pippin set out to retrace the first steps of their adventure. Meanwhile, Sam’s daughter, Elanor, has discovered a long-buried secret and is determined to uncover why the War of the Ring was very nearly lost before it even began.
Stephen Colbert is co-writing the script.
"Up, up and away in my beautiful, my beautiful motorboat! Da-da, da-da-da-da..."
"But we didn't enter any police raffle."
"That doesn't matter. The important thing is we won!"
@DiscussingFilm Acolyte, Willow, Starfleet Academy, Dr. Who - plenty of shows have tried to bully/threaten/beg viewers to 'give it a chance'.
Did it ever work?
Can you understand the skepticism? We have intelligence guided by experience which is warning us that "different" is code for "woke".

@PotterWorldW They tried race shaming/guilting/begging viewers into embracing shows they knew people wouldn't like with Acolyte, Starfleet Academy, Willow, Dr. Who, and many others.
How well did that work out for them...?
@AnvilLitmus@fandompulse The original show was lightning in a bottle that they've been trying to recapture for ages. But they've proved time and again that they just can't do it.
@fandompulse And that she's trying to get out in front of it by pre-shaming/guilting/begging the audience. That's the same strategy those other shows employed. How well did that work out for them?
@fandompulse "Different" is Hollywood code for "woke trash". If the show's alumni are already on their digital hands and knees, begging people to 'give it a chance'? What that says to me is Anderson already knows this is going to be another Acolyte/Starfleet Academy level disaster.
Yesterday I had a lecturer look me dead in the face and tell me AI was the future and musicians would be "forced to embrace it".
And bringing up the bubble, she sarcastically went "well that's a matter of opinion".
Today Sora got shut down and Disney pulled out.
"Opinion". Ha.
@derekbwriting He looks… chubby. At least in that photo (assuming it wasn’t AI generated). The text always seemed to describe Snape as being skinny, wiry, and thin.
Let's be clear. There's a lot of issues with this HBO Harry Potter series. Extra unnecessary added details, pointless raceswaps of minor characters that I, like many other Potterheads, could have overlooked. But Black Snape is such an insulting slap in the face it's a 100% deal breaker.
