Thank you @BonitaZarrillo for nominating me to receive the King Charles III Coronation Medal. It was very humbling and inspiring to be part of the ceremony along with so many amazing other recipients that have served their community in so many amazing ways. #Gratitude

The eagle is love and I LOVE this creation from a K class. It describes what is important to them in their classroom community. Love to all!

@EmilyAPaschall You would probably love Bounce at the Bell. The hardest part is done - showing everyone it’s logistically possible to gather every morning. Now you just need a couple of teachers to facilitate some movement routines and get student leaders to…well….lead.

One of my favorite things we’ve implemented this year is our school wide Morning Meeting. Our day starts together in the gym where we have a morning greeting, say the pledge, and sing the National Anthem. We celebrate birthdays and talk about our character word of the week. Then we end with our school chant. It’s the best way to spend the first ten minutes of our school day! Here’s a clip of us singing the National Anthem together. ❤️🤍🩵 I love our school.

Yesterday, the Learning Services Department welcomed Kindergarten teachers and hosted an impactful in-service session, where they discussed this year’s goals for literacy and numeracy, recognizing the crucial work ahead with our youngest learners.

Here's what needs to happen if we’re going to have a true, evidence-based approach to literacy across all grade levels—and why kids should read like chemists (yes, you read that right). 🧪 edut.to/3EfKVUA

What a privilege it has been to learn from and be inspired by these @sd43bc colleagues. Some of these "women of wisdom" are retiring and some are moving on to new teaching adventures. Our hearts burst with gratitude for their passion and commitment to education and learning.

Yes, assessment of learning and yes, assessment for learning. And also, assessment to inform our teaching. If we are not using evidence of learning to be responsive, to differentiate, and to plan for our learners, we are missing the mark.
