1. Watched #Baramulla (Varmul) last night. What a powerful movie from the stables of the Dhar Brothers, @AdityaDharFilms & @LokeshDharB62! Director Aditya Suhas Jambhale has extracted such brilliant performances from powerhouses of talent like Manav Koul & @bhashasumbli ji.

One Year Since Atul Subhash’s Death: A Reminder of Unanswered Questions on Legal Fairness
It has been one year since Atul Subhash, a 34-year-old man, ended his life after alleging relentless legal harassment, false accusations, prolonged separation from his young son, and an alleged demand of ₹3 crore to be “left in peace”. His death sent shockwaves across the country and ignited a national conversation on alleged legal bias against men in matrimonial disputes.
In a one-hour video recorded before his death, Atul detailed what he described as sustained pressure, intimidation, and instigation by his wife and her family. Despite the gravity of the allegations and the public outcry that followed, the legal aftermath has raised troubling questions.
No meaningful custodial action followed. Proceedings moved slowly. The first effective hearing reportedly took place nearly a year after his death, with the next date initially fixed another year later, an order later reconsidered only after public outrage. His parents, meanwhile, have reportedly not seen their grandson even once in the past year.
Allegations involving judicial misconduct also failed to translate into any visible inquiry. Instead, developments on the administrative side deepened public scepticism about accountability within the system.
While the country mourned, systemic introspection remained limited. The only notable institutional response since then has been public statements by a few Members of Parliament calling for gender-neutral laws and the establishment of a Men’s Commission.
Atul Subhash’s death was not merely a personal tragedy. It became a symbol rightly or wrongly of a larger discomfort surrounding matrimonial laws, misuse allegations, prolonged incarceration, and procedural delays.
As the anniversary passes, the questions remain unresolved:
Can justice afford to move this slowly after a life is lost?
Can legal safeguards exist without accountability for misuse?
And can reform be postponed indefinitely?
Remembering Atul Subhash today is not about sides, it is about acknowledging that silence and delay, too, can become instruments of injustice.

If muslims are growing Saffron in Kashmir today, it is because of the knowledge passed down by Hindus.
Kashmiri Hindus used to cultivate saffron in Kashmir when Islam did not even exist.
Saffron is mentioned in various Hindu literature by different names depending on the origin and variety. Some of the names are Kumkuma (कुंकुम), Kesara (केसर), Kashmirajanman (कश्मीरजन्मन्) (Literally meaning "born in Kashmir" or of Kashmiri origin), Agnishikha (अग्निशिख), Vahnishikha (वह्निशिख), Bhavarakta (भवरक्त), Shonita (शोणित), Bahukam.
Saffron or Kesar is mentioned in Mahabharata and Charak Samhita to be specific.
But Madarsachaaps are taught a different story. They will tell you two Sufi saints, Khawaja Masood Wali and Sheikh Sharif-u-din Wali introduced saffron to Kashmir around the 12th century. They gave Saffron to a local chieftain which cured his illness and cultivation of Saffron started in the region.
