After 9/11, Sikhs were targeted in America, mistaken for being Muslims. They collectively decided not to clarify “I am not a Muslim” because that would imply targeting Muslims is fine. That is courage

@Heeker448609 @Joydas That is just factually wrong. I'm old enough to remember the time after 9/11. Look up the kind of campaigns Sikh Mediawatch and Resource Task Force (now SALDEF) was running at the time. They rightly worked to distinguish Sikhs and Sikhism from Islam and Muslims in the U.S.
