On behalf of the Offaly GAA Communications Committee, we are truly honoured to receive the McNamee Digital Impact Award for 2024. This recognition is a testament to the dedication, creativity, and teamwork of everyone involved in promoting Offaly GAA both on and off the field.
A special mention must go to the talented young videographer , Mark Forde from Edenderry, who joined our team in early 2023. Mark approached us with a vision to document the journey of our Under-20 hurlers in 2024, saying he felt “something special was going to happen” with this group, and how right he was. Over the months, the team was followed closely, attending training sessions and matches, ensuring Mark had full access to capture every key moment. The result was an inspiring chronicle of a remarkable year, culminating in our Under-20s being crowned Leinster and All-Ireland champions. More than 20,000 supporters travelled to Nowlan Park for that unforgettable All-Ireland Final, an occasion that will live long in Offaly hearts.
Our Communications Committee has worked tirelessly in recent years to keep supporters informed and connected. In 2025 alone, we produced nearly 250 match programmes across the top three tiers of adult championships in both hurling and football, as well as for every adult and underage A, B, and C final. We continuously share team updates, scores, and stories across all platforms, maintaining strong partnerships with our sponsors. This award celebrates that collective effort and the passion we have for our national games and for Offaly GAA.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the many people across the clubs of Offaly who provide us with invaluable information on games and scores. Special thanks to our Operations Manager, John Hackett, and Coaching and Games Officer, Carina Carroll, for their ongoing and crucial support. I also wish to thank Adrian Clancy and the coaching staff for successfully delivering programmes to clubs and venues throughout the county.
Massive thanks to the 2024 Executive Committee, especially Michael Duignan, Colm Cummins, and Dervill Dolan, for their vision in driving Offaly forward. Thanks to current Chairman, Tom Parlon, Secretary, Brendan Minnock, and Treasurer, Frank Fitzpatrick, for their continued support. Thanks also to our local radio station, as well as the electronic and print media, for helping to promote Gaelic games in Offaly.
Finally, heartfelt thanks to the group of people below, without whom this would not be possible.

The Faithful Fields was buzzing with energy yesterday as the Condron Concrete Faithful Junior Academy welcomed 198 young footballers and hurlers for a fantastic day of sport and development. Alongside this, the Condron Concrete Faithful Óg Academy continued its important work, with 150 players preparing for next year’s under-14 academies. The atmosphere was one of learning, teamwork, and excitement as future stars honed their skills under the guidance of dedicated coaching staff and volunteer coaches from clubs across the county.
A huge thank you goes to everyone who gave their time and expertise to make the day such a success. Ken Molloy (Molloy Media Productions) was present to capture unforgettable memories, while sincere gratitude is extended to Condron Concrete for their valued and ongoing support.
Another great initiative from Offaly Coaching & Games who continue to progress Gaelic Games in this proud dual County.

We’re seriously lacking in defenders for our Tailteann Cup semi-finals! All sharp-shooters on the panel - Sligo captain Niall Murphy is with Dessie and Offaly’s Nigel Dunne for Wicklow v Limerick and Kildare against Fermanagh on @TheSundayGame on @rte2 from 1:30. #rtegaa

@TheRealJT23 @MidlandsSport Thank god for yourself and John on the radio this evening for those of us who couldn’t make it to Dublin … great game shame it wasn’t televised… 💚🤍💛

FT. Dublin 1-25 Offaly 2-19. A hammer blow to Offaly who still lead in the 35th minute of the second half but a barnstorming late finish of a Hayes goal and point gave Dublin the spoils.
A tough one to take but a lot to be encouraged about.

@NedzerB13 From an Offaly point of view it was very disappointing to not be able to get tickets and then watch it on TV and see the stadium nearly empty … the distribution of tickets was questionable … but I agree Nowlan park would have been a better venue for the game

@JohnnoKinahan14 @Offaly_GAA Let’s hope the sun shines on us Johnno !

Great to be heading off to Croker in the morning to get behind another @Offaly_GAA team in a final. Great times to be an Offaly supporter!! Best wishes to all the lads, especially the Tullamore men Daire, John, Cormac, Aaron, Oisin, Bourkey and Diarmuid! #UibhFhailiAbu 💚🤍💛

Offaly GAA is actively recruiting referees aged 16-24 to commence their careers by refereeing Go Games matches and the Shane Lowry League matches.
To maintain and improve hurling and football standards, we need more referees to officiate at all levels. New recruits will receive full referee kits and go through a dedicated coaching programme to develop their skills. This is a great opportunity to stay involved in the game, gain experience, and support the future of Offaly GAA.
Get involved today!
