This @globeandmail investigation digs deep into one private staffing agency's shocking profits and unaccounted for expenses. One example: $1.6-million of taxpayer $ went to meal allowances, even though nurses were required to bring their own food.

I'm sad. Very sad. We lost a nurse colleague to suicide. Our hearts are broken. So many questions. We are mourning. Crying through our shifts while still caring for patients & working short-staffed.
Please check on nurses. Fight for nurses. We wonder who else is struggling 😢
On behalf of the Board of Directors and Staff of the Registered Nurses' Union Newfoundland & Labrador, we wish you a wonderful holiday season and a happy and healthy New Year! 🎄
To the RNs and NPs working over the holidays to keep us safe, we sincerely thank you.
Health care is beyond broken – but it isn’t beyond repair.

“I was mandated to come back after a night shift, given less than 4 hours to rest. This happened while I was pregnant. I did not feel safe for myself, for my patients or for my unborn child. I could not refuse as I was the only RN on the floor. We deserve better.”
