@cfc1869 Also, do you really think a loss by DuPage against a D1 would have a big impact? I don’t think it should. Strength of schedule, points and point differentials seem to highly favor a DuPage/Louisburg game.

As we rapidly approach the NJCAA DIII Championship game, we have a shocking, two-way tie for the #2 seed! 🥈 Louisburg (8-2) and North Dakota SCS (9-1) are the teams in question. They did not play each other this year and have both played their final regular season games! 👀 The rulebook states that the regular season will conclude on November 23rd, which will subsequently be followed by a final poll on November 24th. There are only a few games left on the DIII schedule. #4 Hudson Valley plays this Saturday against Hocking. A win could bump them up the poll but would likely not be enough to position them in the running for #2. DuPage, the #1 seed, plays on November 23rd against NJCAA DI Community Christian (MI). Should they lose, things could be even more chaotic! @cfc1869 Thank you for clarifying! I find it hard to accept that an organization would put additional financial strain on two teams that both have to travel considerable distance to play the home team, and yet make them wait another 19 days to find out who gets the privilege to play.

Great questions! Per the 2024-2025 NJCAA Sports Code handbook, while NDSCS & Louisburg's regular seasons have concluded, the regular season is not technically over (as we stated above) and therefore a final set of rankings will be released on November 24th: "All regular season games must be completed by November 23, 2024, and the final regular season poll will be released on November 24 (after the semi-final teams have been announced and notified)." The handbook also addresses the scenario where there is a tie for #1, but not its subsequent rankings/seeds: "In the event of a tie for the No. 1 position in the poll, the number of overall first place votes from all members of the voting panel will be used to break the tie. If a tie should still exist, all football panel members shall be immediately polled again by NJCAA National Office and asked to rank only the teams that were tied", At this point it's an educated guess, but the Committee may use this same procedure for breaking the tie with the #2 seed in the likely scenario that the final rankings yield the same results. We have not seen any press or follow-up articles on these rankings, but we will post about it once we have more information! Hope this helps!
