@MariaBaird13 I remember it as if it was yesterday, that's because it was yesterday, and Friday and today. I didn't watch because I had other things to do, Also they are all available on streaming platforms. In conclusion. You missed them.

@ATradCatholic @UnlikelyJacobin You do realise that Protestants make an act of confession before communion and that the Book of Common prayer gives very clear instructions on not taking communion unless you are in a fit state to do so having genuinely repented your sins and bearing no ill will towards others?

Be honest… do people actually exist who love staying home all day, completely alone, not seeing a single person, the same way some people finish a whole book in one sitting?

@Aku_700 @YodaSketti It was great to see a fightback from parents of the children. British people have had enough of pandering to other minorities and must fight to retain our Christian culture.

@Aku_700 We need a nationwide school strike. No kids go to school until the madness ends. No school means no work for teachers until they give up there far left idiology. The kids will be happy, grandparents etc can help look after them if parents have to go to work. It makes sense!

@Symply_rhoda1 In the UK you have to wait so long for a fucking appointment by the time the appointment comes round to see you, you're probably already dead. And if you're a white male, they'll just tell you to go home and rest with some paracetamol.

@Symply_rhoda1 Many cancers are silent, my husband was fine until he suddenly lost peripheral vision and felt fatigued, it was caused by a brain tumour which turned out to be a secondary from Metastatic adenocarcinoma. It was stage 4 at diagnosis.

@ChristSavesUK Or, and here's a wild thought, do as you are told to do, go to an upstairs room and pray in secret, do not parade your faith on street corners, and you could even go to Church. I saw this too late to suggest you find a Good Friday vigil but there are services today and tomorrow

What people think the medieval peasant diet looked like: - Hearty grain bread, fresh from the village oven - Seasonal vegetables, lovingly tended in the cottage garden - The odd roast at feast days, communal and joyful - Simple. Nourishing. Close to the earth. What the medieval peasant diet actually looked like: - Pottage. Every morning. - Pottage again. Every evening. - Rye bread so hard it required soaking before consumption - A piece of salt pork the size of your thumb, stretched across a week - An onion if the season had been kind - Foraging for whatever the hedgerow hadn't already given up - Occasional grain so mouldy it caused hallucinations (this was ergotism; it was not optional; it was the grain or nothing) They weren't eating close to the earth. They were eating the earth. There's a difference.

@hultgren777 @SamaHoole A Holy Day and a Holiday are not the same thing, the peasants still had to work on Holy Days, but also had to attend church. And the " feast" was more likely to be an extra bit of bread or some fish added to the pottage than anything more substantial
