When we speak to company leaders, we aren't there to polish their mgmt acumen. Instead, we are there to #inspire them as leaders. We're trying to take things a step further & inspire them to #reclaim the soul of the workplace by flipping the entire value structure on its head-

...someone has spent in an industry. Finally, diversity of motor=true variety of personality – where people are both introverted & extroverted, both emotional & calm, both quiet & outspoken. We desperately need each other. We need the depth that diversity provides.

#Diversity allows us to walk in others' shoes, overpower hatred & increase perspective. We utilize the acronym #TEAM=thought, experience, age, motor. Diversity of thought=true variety of opinion. Experience=true variety of background. Age=the obvious, but also length of time...

wasting it to conclude the day is not a leader. When 2/10 sec holds as much value to us, there's no excuse to waste a sec! (For #perspective, it takes 2/10 sec to blink. In NASCAR, the dif of 2/10 sec on the track= 6th vs 1st. In prize money= a difference of $1.1 million.)

“I’m just killing time trying to get to the end of the day,” is a workplace phrase uttered by someone devoid of both passion & purpose. Time is 1 of the only resources that we have that is finite. We cannot manufacture it or buy more of it. Someone who admits that he/she is ...

It's too steep for the entitled. Too challenging for the selfish. Too long for the uncommitted. Too narrow for the distracted. There is only one path to the summit. Bring your best self, every day, every moment. It's you vs. yesterday. Are you willing to climb the steep path?

the Charlotte Rescue Mission or giving a teammate time w/ a dying family member w/o having to think about work–will live on forever. The work will always be there, baiting us with its superficial importance. What will be remembered are the memories of personal interactions.

Team members will come & go. Old racing teams will fold, new ones will form. There will be winning & losing seasons. However, what we did as a team w/ regard to human connection–mowing a widow’s lawn, going on a retreat, taking bikes to a Ronald McDonald House, volunteering at...

Our crews are left with nothing to do but interact w/ one another. There are no distractions. We see a clear picture of who works w/i the group & who resides outside of it. How we communicate & regard one another is on full display. Relationships are strengthened.

One thing we implemented w/ our team was a wilderness experience at Mt. LeConte Lodge in the Smoky Mtns. The value is that it's isolated with no roads to get there. You have to earn your way up via a steep mountain climb. There's no electricity or cell service. Silence abounds.

..drifting back into horizontal thinking, replaying past races, anxious about failure. But at the Comcast Community Award banquet (where our pit crew won), our minds became re-centered. We were proud of our guys for being nominated for an award that went far beyond performance.

In a few weeks, we had gone from being 1 of the faves to win the NASCAR Cup to wanting to quit our jobs. It was a disappointing end to an outstanding year. B/c we're so competitive, we can become just as performance-driven & results-obsessed as any leader. We found ourselves...

If you come in talking about how tired you feel or how you hate your job or how unfair the boss is, people won’t want to be around you. People want to be around others who uplift them, inspire them or make them better people. So, what type of person are u choosing to be today?

Your #ArrivalMindset doesn’t affect only your effort; it affects others, too. Complaining at work about how awful life is b/c a barista messed up your latte not only allows negative energy into the workplace, but it could pale in comparison to what a coworker is experiencing.

W/o question, it's customer service. Apple has a "Genius Bar" for fast customer care. Chick-fil-A provides compassionate service at every restaurant across the country. Deep impact can be made when PEOPLE are brought to the forefront of the mission-both employees & customers.

Many leaders believe they have a great product, but they falsely think that people should buy it simply because it's great. However, it's imp to not lose people in the process. Consider Apple & Chick-fil-A, what is it that makes the #experience of that product #special?

inspiration will bring a collective perspective into the workplace that positively accelerates culture/collaborative purpose. Brilliant strategy goes back to brilliant intention & planning, which rests squarely on motive. Positive motives such as hope & love = better motivators.

So many companies push forward at all costs. However, if employees could have something (like volunteering) that truly feeds their souls, a company can begin to create a deeper-rooted identity. By assembling the right pieces, armed w/ emotional intelligence & kindness, this ...
