Trash and blight don’t belong in our neighborhoods. That’s why I’m calling on all KC residents to join the 3rd District September Drop-Off Event. 📅 Saturday, September 27th 🕗 8AM – 12PM This is our chance to clear away trash, bulky items, leaf and brush, and even old tires, making our neighborhoods cleaner, safer, and more beautiful.

Kansas City blizzard update: The remaining neighborhoods and side streets without bare pavement now have packed snow from cars driving on them. While this means the roads are drivable, it is much more difficult to plow and we are focusing on salting first (hence why residents might see a plow drive by with the blade up). We’ve diverted much of our fleet to those northland neighborhoods with packed snow like this. This picture is up north this morning- you can see areas with bare pavement, blue snow from the salt, and then the packed snow from cars. We will be out 24 hours a day until it is gone. Historically we would have given up on this already (and perhaps never even tried to address). Use the MyKCMO app or call 311 to report issues like this. Today in Downtown we will begin hauling away the big piles of snow (there’s too much to just push to the side). We will also continue to clear bike lanes, sidewalks, and other more pedestrian areas. With more snow in the forecast we will also make sure we salt city wide again. Thank you to our amazing crews that have been out 24 hours a day running 12 hour shifts for almost a full week now. So proud of this team!
