50 years ago today, April 9, 1976, “All the President’s Men” was released starring Robert Redford and Dustin Hoffman. Their contrasting yet complementary personalities and working styles created a powerful dynamic, brought to life through the performances of Redford and Hoffman. This combination not only portrayed an enduring symbol of investigative journalism marked by accuracy, passion, and courage, but also contributed to the making of a classic film that authentically depicts the Watergate investigation and affirms the power of a free press in cinema.

“My one regret is July 17th 1994.” -Roberto Baggio Him, Maldini, the other all-time greats have to come together to fix the entire system. There’s no proud history without the likes of them. Let them take them back to the top of the world

t.co/zHIAdqcaHH On this day, 50 years ago, Alan J. Pakula's "All the President's Men" (1976) premiered in Washington, D.C., USA. When the studio executives saw the shooting script of "All the President's Men" (1976), they felt nervous as it didn't seem to have any entertainment value. They said "Oh God, this looks it’s some television documentary, some CBS white paper.”" Frank Wells, the chairman of Disney called Alan J. Pakula two days before the shoot and said, “Alan, we’ve all just seen the final draft and it looks like it’s going be as dry as dust and dull as dishwater. Everybody thinks I’m an idiot to be doing this.” Pakula knew that they couldn't stop the movie 2 days before the shoot as Robert Redford was producing it & starring in it along with Dustin Hoffman. Wells wanted assurance that they were making a theatrical motion picture with some entertainment value. Pakula assured him of that & said, "Redford and I plan to make a theatrical, entertaining film. It will maintain a sense of truth, but it will be a theatrical film that will be exciting to watch and a rewarding theatrical experience for the audience." After that, Wells didn't ask Pakula anything regarding it. [Source: 'The Directors Take two', Robert J. Emery]

Gravina held him back & used him as a scapegoat. Mancini made mistakes but I have no doubts he will learn from them. He played a modern game when in charge of the Azzurri & implemented deep systems throughout the youth sector that helped integrate players into the first team under his watch. Under a new president & a clean up of the FIGC, I have no doubts Mancini can bring us back.
Marco Messina@IFTVMarco

I say bring Mancini back 🇮🇹 ✅ Best football Italy played in years ✅ Aligned the entire youth system with the first team ✅ 4-3-3 with real wingers ✅ Unfinished business A coach won’t fix everything… but it’s a start.

Still paying for the glory of that magnificent summer in 2021... Seem cursed... Gattuso, Buffon & Bonucci to remain. Chances with 10 men, impressive substitutions, but failing on the dreaded penalties. #WCQ2026

Gattuso to Sky 🇮🇹 “Whoever plays football lives for nights like this: that tingling feeling, the tension rising… there’s nothing better. If you don’t feel this, it means you have to retire. Tomorrow we’re playing for a lot. We haven’t been to the last two World Cups. We can’t waste energy, we have to give everything on the pitch. I need to look each player in the eye and transmit trust. We have everything we need to reach our objective. If we’re not beautiful to watch, that’s ok. We need the right mentality and know how to suffer.”

Patrick Troughton - born 106 years ago today. I love Father Brennan in The Omen (1976). With little screen time, he completely grounds the film. He's conflicted, shaken by what he knows, genuinely terrified by the truth, and his death is one of the most famous moments in horror

The Godfather Part II (1974) delivers one of cinema's most chilling boardroom moments: Michael stays eerily calm, skips the threats, and shuts down any deals.
