Call me woke but importing child poverty and then saying that’s a reason they should get permanent residency in order to access state benefits seems off. We can’t act as the piggy bank to the world’s destitute.

Half of all migrant children currently live in poverty - an already shameful statistic. But the Earned Settlement model will see that poverty prolonged for 90,000 children in working migrant families. That's why my community says the Government must think again.

Foreign students pay x2 of what home student pay in fees. Immigrant visas say no recourse to public funds.

Cases like this are why the NHS can't afford to rely on migration.
Far too many people can get away with having poor qualifications, or fraudulent qualifications.
It puts patients at risk. Let's train more doctors and nurses here instead.

Why can't the UK abolish the visa sponsorship model and adopt a work permit route where no one is tied to am employer.
The visa permit fees goes to the government directly, which will be renewed as long as you qualify and put conditions for a permanent stay later.
Immigrants will have freedom to work in any industry and travel, the government will make more money via taxes and all.
Win -Win for everyone.
