So many white and white-adjacent people have been happily working in spaces that traumatize Black people, yet they're the first to try and market their own Black lives matterisms. All while refusing to name their own complicity in white supremacy. Make it make sense.

In 2019, 10,555 people were granted asylum in the UK, while 24,400 were put in detention centres. Those who make it to the UK are twice as likely to end up in prison as they are to be afforded protection. #DefundBorderPolice

I’m looking to write about racism and it’s place in the science community. Are there any editors interested and accepting stories?? If so, feel free to DM/email me

“The oppression and destruction of Black and Brown bodies is global. The use of state forces against the most marginalised is global. The narrative of white liberals believing that we’re somehow better than the US is false and self deceiving”.

Black people do not need to die for you to think, reflect and act. So we need communication plans from organisations that are dedicated to fighting this fight all year around. We need organisations who will continue these conversations with employees. 13/16

You held a eugenics conference last year. You still have buildings named after eugencists. You refuse to acknowledge this history in your medical curriculum. You have the worst diversity record of any London med school. I’m just getting started...

Appalling recent events in the US have shone a clear light on racialised inequality & injustice. Any form of discrimination anywhere is opposed to our values. We stand in solidarity with our Black & racially minoritised students & staff. #BlackLivesMatter ucl.ac.uk/news/2020/jun/…

A lot of us Black people are being re-traumatised by seeing brands and organisations post these statements of solidarity. When we’ve worked or tried to collaborate with these same organisations that ignored, undervalued and affected our mental health 😔

This is an incredible initiative that funds mental health treatment by Black people for Black people in the UK. This is an ESSENTIAL resource. They are still a way away from hitting their goal – please donate if you are able: gofundme.com/f/black-minds-…
