🚨 US DATA CENTER BUILDOUT HITTING A MAJOR BOTTLENECK
Nearly half of planned US data centers are now being delayed or cancelled due to power shortages.
Companies like Amazon, Oracle, Meta, Google and OpenAI have committed over $600B to AI infrastructure this year.
Critical electrical components like transformers, switchgear and batteries can’t keep up with demand.
Even with increased imports from China, plus sourcing from Canada, Mexico and South Korea, supply is still falling short.

English

@aleabitoreddit And where will those H100 rental rates be when the demand doubles yet again and the supply is even more crippled. Mr Burry, your take?
English

I’ve been thinking about this report more from last month…
It’s probably extremely bullish for the Neocloud segment like $NBIS (and even $CRWV) more than markets think.
Because of the hyperscaler buildout delay spillover.
And partly why $META might have signed a $27B deal.
Companies that already have secured capacity/component orders for their buildout are likely to be major winners as other competition stalls.

English

@newstart_2024 Cut it out totally. Alcohol serves exactly zero positive purpose
English

@BernieSanders But what will you actually do with all that extra tax revenue? Piss it away like the other 7 trillion per year
English

Ok, Jamie: Let me clear things up for you.
If my 5% wealth tax on billionaires was enacted you’d owe $135 million more in taxes & a family of 4 making $150,000 or less would receive a $12,000 payment.
Oh, and you’d still be worth more than $2.5 billion. Seems pretty fair to me.
Acyn@Acyn
Kilmeade: What do you say to people like Bernie Sanders who says billionaires don't pay their fair share? Dimon: I don't know what he means by fair share

@ExpoRecruits @MasonGregg15 My best was 26 but that was at 165lb body weight. He’s about double that lol
English

@ZeekArkham It’s ridiculous that people completely selwear off family And friends over a different political opinion. Seems pretty wasteful and shallow to me
English

Had a friend I’ve known for almost twenty years call me this morning.
He found this account and my IG. Cursed me out, called me a “coon,” said he doesn’t f**k with “MAGA supporters,” and told me not to ever contact him again.
I hadn’t even had my coffee yet… like, bruh… let me at least be awake for this. You’re this level of mad before breakfast?
When I started speaking up years ago, I knew I was going against the grain. I knew I’d lose friends. I knew I’d lose family. Unfortunately, tribalism and cult-brain are rampant on the other side, especially amongst black folks.
Oh well… sucks, but I’m not going to stop being who I am. On to the next one.
English

@mvcinvesting Amen. These down 150k days will mess with the mind you gotta stay in reality
English

@FunOfInvesting High execution risk but if they pull everything off the next 3-5 years this will be a 300 billion dollar company. Thats over 10x for those of you scoring at home
English

@VigilantFox Literally the dumbest hill to die on in political history but also the last shred of relevance dems have left. If they can’t game the system the game is over
English

BRUTAL: Stephen A. Smith just told Democrats to “SHUT UP” and stop “bitching” about voter ID.
“You should have a damn ID [to vote]. You need an ID for every damn thing else.”
“And to the progressive left, shut the hell up!”
“You got a mayor in New York City that required TWO IDs for you to shovel snow.”
“You ain’t in no position to be bitching about how [Trump] wants IDs and the GOP wants IDs for votes. Shut up! Nobody wants to hear that.”
English

I grew up in Venezuela under a regime that turned every institution into a tool of the state. Banks, media, telecom — if you operated, you complied. There was no such thing as a “private” company that said no to Chávez. That’s why what I’m about to tell you about $NBIS should concern every American.

@APompliano We are living through the most important moment in human history and most people do not realize it yet
AI today is the worst it will ever be
This is not the beginning of decline
It is the beginning of the most extraordinary chapter our species has ever written

@alt_w_v_g Warranties are one of the most effective scams on earth.

The dishwasher broke
My wife said "good thing we have the home warranty"
I said nothing
I've been paying $62 a month for three years for this moment
$2,232 for the peace of mind that when something breaks someone will come to the house and tell me it's not covered
I called
47 minutes on hold
They sent a technician
Arrival window: Tuesday through Thursday between 8am and 5pm
My analyst delivers faster than that
And he still hasn't fixed the gridlines
He showed up Wednesday at 4:47pm
Looked at the dishwasher
Opened the door
Closed the door
Touched something underneath
Said "not covered"
90 seconds
That's faster than my bank lets me prove I'm human
I said "what's covered"
He said "the motor"
I said "what's wrong with it"
He said "not the motor"
I said "convenient"
He said the service fee is $75
I paid a man $75 to open my dishwasher, close my dishwasher, and say two words
My analyst could do that
And he's not even that good
I called the warranty company back
38 minutes on hold
Requested the policy
129 pages
I read all 129 pages
Because that's what I do
The coverage section is 34 pages
The exclusions section is 58
The business model is right there
In the margins
Where nobody reads
Except me
Page 91 says "all mechanical and electrical components essential to appliance function are covered under standard service"
Page 104 excludes control panels
A control panel is an electrical component essential to appliance function
Their own document contradicts itself 13 pages apart
I highlighted both
Sent them an email
Subject line: "Plz fix. Thx."
Attached both pages
No other context
Took them three days to send a technician
Took them 4 hours to call me back when I found the loophole
Funny how that works
They covered the repair
Waived the $75
And I canceled the warranty anyway
Because a contract that contradicts itself isn't a contract
It's a suggestion
My wife said "so we're canceling"
I said "we're canceling"
She said "and the dishwasher"
I said "fixed. They're covering it."
She said "how"
I said "I read the policy"
She said "all 129 pages"
I said "the exclusions section starts on page 47. The coverage section ends on page 34. There are 13 pages between them where they hoped nobody would look."
She looked at me
Then she said "you're unbelievable"
I said "I just saved us $744 a year and got a free dishwasher repair. I'm not unbelievable. I'm thorough."
She looked at the ceiling
The dishwasher works now
The warranty is canceled
And the policy has been read
By at least one person
Probably the first
Make common sense common again
Plz fix. Thx.

@beavinvests It route correct I’ll make plenty of money on $IREN and $NBIS calls because they’ll all run together to an extent.

@sweatystartup This guy has some interesting takes. And by interesting I mean retarded

Investing heavily in AI at your company will backfire.
You are becoming dependent on something that is unsustainable.
The VC money will dry up once they realize nobody is going to make any money in the long run except NVDA and the power companies.
The subsidies will stop.
And your costs will 5x.
There is no moat in AI. Switching from GPT to gemini to grok to claude takes seconds and you don't miss a beat.
Its a house of cards.
