@DeegDad @MagaAlphaMale @RandomHvacGuy Jan 6 was a protest that lasted a few hours. You and others of your reprehensible ilk supported, were encouraged by the media and even participated in burning and looting cities, including black-owned businesses in 2020. This terrorism and anarchy went on for 6+ months.

Yeah there’s alot to unpack and I’m not very concise No no I don’t disagree and do acknowledge the terrible things done by white supremacists then and now but it was all rooted in ignorance that wasn’t truly dispelled until desegregation. Even today racists although a minority aren’t a small minority in any group at 10-20%. Yes free and freed black men did exist in a parallel colonial universe as well as a parallel America and had little rights outside their freedom to exercise their rights as Americans or even to BE American until 1868. You’re absolutely correct it was and that is my point. We are all Americans nowdays and you and I love this country for what it is today And I can love the origin portions that were right and hate the origin portions that were wrong while saying that we still have work to do but we all have a vessel to live peacefully and equally under God and this flag in this nation because of the the foundation laid whether it was intentional or not, it got us here and we that don’t hate each other are winning that battle. God bless you brother. You and yours. I wish you all the best and look forward to continued discussions about any and all things.

@RealActionBill @MagaAlphaMale @RandomHvacGuy Jan 6 was not a protest it was an insurrection. An insurrection is an attempt to disrupt or overthrow a government or gov process. Jan 6 was a plot from Trump and friends to disrupt the certification of the election so they could submit their false slate of electors.

Nobody said anything about an evil structure. You are projecting your own morality that white supremacy is bad without me even having to say it. I'm sure you're a proud American and so am I, however you have to be able to honestly acknowledge our abhorrent actions so as not to repeat them. While I agree that people are a product of their environment and that slavery and racial discrimination were normalized in their originating cultures. Racism and discrimination were not a fringe minority. You're jumping around from too many parts of history that make addressing them all not worth it. While there were free black men, they had to exist in ethnic enclaves and were not given equal treatment under the law by any means. If you narrow white supremacy down to just white vs black you miss out on our treatment of Natives, Chinese, and Mexicans that I think more clearly highlight the white supremacist ideology in our political history.

Maybe just maybe…it’s something else that’s not rooted in some sort of evil structure Prior to America forming the King of England forced his will upon this land and certain things like slavery of white and black people were forced upon the people coming here. And prior to the creation of chattel life long slavery all slavery was indentured servitude until it wasn’t. People of all races were already free throughout this time. Our forefathers argued, despite SOME of them owning slaves that this is a bad thing and how could we create a free land if not all people are in fact free. So THEY built the system for ALL Americans leaving us to define what an American is. Perhaps If a system existed because of a majority of people in a country demonstrated empirical evidence of a system working better than any other system in the world based off of whatever metrics one might use to build up that opinion, for example, America and Americanism. Perhaps because of that system’s undeniable success it created a belief in the system and formula that was more about the system that had nothing to do with race at all Perhaps even Jim Crowe laws were protectionary devices built into that system later due to ignorance and prejudice that were not merited and were instituted by influence of a powerful but small group of people organized and connected like the KKK to terrorize the majority into compliance and OUR constitutional republic and system despite the majority being white, is such a good system, not a democracy that made it possible that the majority could look at empirical evidence of a minority’s rights based on our forefather’s definitions that had nothing to do with race and were able to conclude that laws based on race were unconstitutional and they were changed by white people, the majority, to benefit black people, the minority because that was the right thing to do. ——————————————— Free blacks were present in North America since the 16th-century Spanish explorations and early 17th-century English colonization (e.g., 1619 Virginia), often arriving as indentured servants or "Atlantic Creoles". Free black populations existed in European nations—particularly Spain and Portugal—for over a century before American colonization began, largely due to maritime trade and exploration starting in the 1400s. Free Blacks in America •Early Presence (16th–17th Century): Free blacks arrived alongside European explorers, such as in St. Augustine (1565), and worked as laborers or skilled artisans. Some early Africans in the English colonies were not slaves, but rather indentured servants who gained freedom after service. •Colonial Period: While the number was small, free blacks lived in Virginia in the mid-1600s, often through manumission or being born to a free parent. •Post-Revolutionary Surge: The number of free blacks increased dramatically between 1790 and 1810, driven by manumissions in the Upper South following the American Revolution. Free Blacks in European Nations •Early Presence (15th Century onward): Free people of color existed in Europe, particularly in port cities of Spain and Portugal, long before the mass colonization of the Americas. They were involved in the early Atlantic trade and exploring expeditions, with free black sailors accompanying Christopher Columbus in 1492. • By 1860, there were roughly 488,000 free "colored" persons in the United States, with a significant population in the North and a smaller population in the South ———————————————

@lowBran31287 @TerrellSocialst I think if you hear from both sides of the isle the loudest voices are always pointing to one big bad (immigrants, billionaires, jews). I think people just naturally fall down populist pipelines. I know I did until I went back to college. Young people are extreme and that's ok.

Democrats cannot defeat the right with fear alone. They need a real governing plan that makes life materially better for working people. So I created Democrats Project 2028: A democratic socialist blueprint for a fairer America. Healthcare. Housing. Wages. Voting rights. Public power. Real democracy. This is what Democrats should be fighting for.

From the last study I read the large increase in minimum wage for fast food workers had a very small impact on costs for larger businesses (Mcdonalds) but hurt small business margins. Idk if alot of them went out of business. If they did they were prob operating on slim margins to begin with. If you could cite specific taxes and reg fees that would be nice. The big one I know about is our gas regs but this is to reduce smog visibility which I'm willing to take the trade off of having to pay more but being able to see the sky in LA and SF is nice.

@DeegDad @TerrellSocialst California’s crushing taxes and regulatory fees do far more damage than mediocre wages ever could. It makes everything so expensive to the point where even $30/hr can’t keep up.

@lowBran31287 @TerrellSocialst This is too broad of a question to be answered effectively. There are lots of small companies that end up getting bought up by larger corps. This is largely because bigger corps can do things in a more efficient manner.

Hey @cenkuygur and other fellow antiwar leftists, I get the desire to ally with antiwar rightists in this moment, but this is one of the many (many!) reasons I still have issues with Carlson: he lies so easily and casually and demonstrably. It’s a trust issue with him.
