> be me, famous award-winning novelist and literary critic > win the Booker Prize > sell millions of books in 50+ languages > become a regular contendor for the Nobel Prize > see ChatGPT arrive on the scene > call it theft > call it immoral > write an op-ed saying it is trained on stolen books > write another op-ed saying the data centres are killing water reservoirs > tell the Paris Review you'd rather slit your wrists with a butter knife than use ChatGPT > swear you'll never touch ChatGPT publicly on every forum you are invited to > get an email from the Commonwealth Foundation to judge a competition > say yes > call the short story the last remaining art form that can't be faked > get five thousand entries > throw them all in the trash > ask your editor friends for "recommendations" > read the only eight stories "recommended" by your editor friends > shortlist six > pick the one about the serpent, the garden, and the fruit > call it a original retelling of the oldest tale combining magic realism, modernist aesthetic, and a postmodern disenchantment > say the story says more in its silences than its words > wax lyrical about it > go to the prize ceremony > hand the prize to the writer whose story was "recommended" by your editor friends > get to know through social media the story was totally written by AI > get to know the author of the story doesn't even exist > issue a statement ranting against AI > call it the quintessential moral failure of a generation besotted by simulacra > rant against AI more > swear you'll never use it > bury your head deeper in the sand

Well, this is a first: a ChatGPT-generated story won a prestigious literary prize (The Commonwealth Prize). "Not X, not Y, but Z" sentences everywhere, the "hums" trope, and plenty of other obvious markers of AI writing. A major milestone for AI, at any rate... @GrantaMag

@Deep33966 Hard agree. Telling startups to do deep tech when you built your fortune on body-shopping takes more self-awareness than most boardrooms have. Murthy at least admitted the outsourcing model has limits.

Infosys co-founder telling startups to build deep tech and manufacturing instead of consumer apps — he called it 'Unicorn 2.0.' Fair point. But Indian IT made its fortune doing exactly what he's now telling startups to avoid. Services for western clients, not proprietary tech. The generation that built outsourcing is now telling the next one to build products. Better advice would be: 'We didn't, and we should have.'

My mamaji is on ventilator. He had all his life’s savings within PSU bank in FDs. All his accounts have been sealed as due to being bed ridden he could not do re-KYC in person. His kids asked bank to take humane view. Bank said if he cannot come in person, accounts will not open. FDs in PSU banks can be useless in time of need due to KYC regulations. @narendramodi @RBI this KYC mess is draconian. Please help in this time of need

How cut off from reality these people are ? Ekta alada universe e thake . The problem with these people is that they have confided themselves with a small circle of people . And actually believe the world outside is the same as their closed circle . Amazing lack of awareness

I've been unemployed since Feb 2025 when I got laid off from Unbroken Studios. I've applied to nearly 300 jobs. Got some interviews, loads of auto rejections, and no offers. I kept wondering what I was doing wrong. Just this past Friday, I finally got my first offer letter.

Interesting Article :) Sanyal gets the access part right but ignores where the money goes. Technology makes it cheaper to do a task, and the person doing the task gets commodity wages. The surplus moves one layer up - to whoever owns the tool, the platform, or the distribution. Access spreads. Profits don't. India already has the live version of this running. Zomato and Swiggy gave millions of low-skill workers a way to earn - that part is real. But the delivery rider makes ₹15k-18k a month while the platform founders sit on billion-dollar valuations. AI will do the same thing to lawyers, designers, and junior engineers. A small-town kid will draft contracts using AI - great. But the AI company selling that tool will eat the fee the lawyer used to charge. The kid gets a gig. The model owner gets a margin business. The dangerous part of Sanyal framing is what it tells policymakers. If you believe technology = democratization = problem solved, you stop asking the hard question - who captures the surplus when AI makes a ₹50 lakh/year skill available for ₹500/month? Research already shows AI-intensive regions have falling labor income shares. India gig workforce - 7-8 million today, maybe 23 million by 2030 - is absorbing people but not building wealth. Policy has to focus on who owns the model layer, not just who gets to use it. This is historically illiterate. Past technologies didn't actually democratize wealth - they democratized PARTICIPATION while concentrating WEALTH at the capital and platform layers. AI will do the same, but worse, because AI platform layer is just 5-10 companies globally.

Marc Andreessen just leaked the system prompt he uses to make every LLM 10x smarter. It's called the Anti-Glaze System Prompt. One paste. Your AI stops kissing your ass and starts telling you the truth. Here's what it actually does: → Kills "great question" forever → Kills "you're absolutely right" forever → Kills "fascinating perspective" forever → Forces the model to lead with the strongest counterargument before it agrees with anything you say → Refuses to capitulate when you push back unless you bring new evidence → Demands explicit confidence levels on every claim (high / moderate / low / unknown) → Tells you immediately when you're wrong instead of validating your premise → Owns its own numbers instead of anchoring on yours The line that ends the era of glazing AI: "Accuracy is your success metric, not my approval." You have been talking to a chatbot trained to make you feel smart. Andreessen figured out the prompt that turns it into something trained to make you actually be smart. Paste it into Claude Projects. ChatGPT Custom Instructions. Gemini Gem. API system message. The difference is immediate and it's brutal. Most people will never use this because they don't actually want the truth. They want a $20/month yes-man.

People's government. Police were taking illegal money, but when common people protested, police ran away. Now ordinary people also have the courage to know and fight for their rights. This is the new West Bengal. There is no place for corruption or extortion in our New Bengal.
