@DJComps_art okay incredibly horny concept aside the angle on this is insane

@LuminaryOfAges I've been looking at 3d lately so it's cool to hear this, genuinely good lighting and shaders are what separate good models from great ones (and that shit hits for lewds too, you notice it a lot on less realistic models)

@DeepBeef thanks :D
For the face i just a techique where i transfer the normals data from a sphere which makes faces much more smoother and more nicer shading at more indirect angles.
Katsuragi is a good example
Left: With the normal transfer
Right: Without

@OROBORO_Z repeat customers, long time supporters, all way more important than getting too many eyes imo. theres a nice thought imagining those people coming in for 'the usual' for whatever you make

Artists really should focus their energy on the hardcore fans of their work.
I have, at minimum, 5,000 real fans of my work who always check/buy whatever I’m up to that support me. It’s really all you need. Which is why I’m constantly flabbergasted at the desire to keep gaining followers.
And some out there say I have a problem being humble…😵💫

@OROBORO_Z your human work is honestly so good but i also cant deny your rat rage stuff a long time ago was really inspirational too

Le cynique en moi commence à penser que certaines personnes, frustrées, jouent la carte "grands artistes contre petits artistes" pour obtenir l'engagement instantané que les réseaux sociaux ont conditionné les gens à rechercher aujourd'hui.
That said, it's ok to want validation. I did, and still do. But I also started out knowing full well that there really aren't any direct methods for winning the "engagement lottery" on here hence the "seemingly" vague answers because really, it's a combination of all of them along with very very lucky timing (thank you teenage years on deviantart for the brutal lessons there). You can draw fanart for, and get into the good graces of, artists you admire for that consistent juicy re-tweet, indulge in morbid curiosity and wind up drawing ragebait as a result, grind and post obsessively every day to the point of burnout or you can pander to yourself and create an interesting world/storyline for your OCs that others will want to have fun with. And you can do all of the above like me and then get hit with The Covid Meta which was like engagement-rocket-fuel for everyone thanks to so many being stuck indoors with nothing better to do. And even with that, if we're talking raw numbers I still see many more artists here who do miles "better" engagement-wise with far FAR less followers.
Ultimately, anything can work on this platform. It really is just down to luck, timing and being consistent after figuring out what kind of audience you're going for.
I will say though that if you can, try not to let your passion die in the process as it's what fuels creativity in this field and gave birth to the iconic franchises and stories we all love (and wish to tell) today. Take breaks, brush up on your skills, learn something else or read to farm new inspiration for your art endeavors. There's a reason the "draw for yourself" meta keeps getting repeated across the board and it's because humans are naturally empathetic beings and most *will* know when you're actually enjoying what you're creating and will, subconsciously or otherwise, react accordingly. Plus the mindset will help you cope better when some posts inevitably crash and burn due to the big scary Algorithm.
Also, as usual, be smart and don't fill your art account's media tab with reaction images and gifs. Save that for a separate account or have a proper easily-accessible gallery elsewhere if you don't intend to make Twitter your main medium.
Bonne journée and bonne chance, "small" artists.

I wish big artists actually gave useful advices instead of saying “just draw for yourself bro” over and over again😞 Like, why they never tell people that they should post almost everyday? Why don’t they tell people how to utilize trends and how to make your OCs presentable?
