Is it theoretically possible that $BE is lying about scandium and that Brookfield, Oracle and Nebius all failed to uncover a fatal supply constraint before committing to multibillion dollar projects? Yes. It’s also extraordinarily unlikely. Bloom has now stated in an SEC filing that it has sufficient non-China scandium supply for its current demand and backlog, with visibility to support 25 GW of annual production. Brookfield just expanded its partnership to $25B. Nebius committed up to $2.6B. Oracle contracted an initial 1.2 GW under an agreement covering up to 2.8 GW. Outside scandium estimates are not precision exercises. Bloom’s material intensity, manufacturing yields, inventory, supplier contracts and future efficiency gains are not publicly known. I'll take the risk into tomorrow. A hike is 1/3rd of the way priced in, if no hike and hedges come off the market should have 1-2 days of rebound.

In Sylvan Lake I spoke with an Iraqi Christian family who came to Canada in 2006 about what immigrants owe the country that welcomed them. Their answer was blunt: come here for a better life, obey Canadian law, work hard, care for your family and leave the conflicts of the old country behind. They told me newcomers should not come to Canada and then try to force the same politics, divisions or customs on everyone else. Canada gave their children safety and a future, and they believe immigrants have a duty to protect that. Then I told them I support Alberta independence. Their response surprised me: they support it too, and they have lawn signs in support of independence up! Support for Alberta independence is not limited to people whose families have lived here for generations. Immigrants who came here legally, worked hard and integrated can also see that Alberta is losing control over its culture, immigration and future. This is a powerful conversation. Listen to the end.
