Age yourself by naming a NBA point guard you grew up watching. I’ll start: Gilbert Arenas.

There’s a few growing trends in modern NFL uniforms that stand out to me. One that doesn’t get talked about enough: custom striping. It sounds small, but it’s actually one of the biggest ways teams are creating identity right now. We’re in a template era. A lot of uniforms are built on the same foundations, same fits, same general construction… and that can make teams start to blend together. Striping is one of the few places you can still fully separate. The Bengals figured this out a long time ago. You don’t need to see the logo. You don’t even need the full uniform. You see that stripe—you know exactly who it is. Now you’re seeing more teams lean into it. The Ravens. The Titans. Texans. Safe to say more teams will start following suit.

🚨BREAKING: The Philadelphia #Eagles are one of the FAVORITES to sign free agent wide receiver Tyreek Hill. There was a 34% chance that Hill signs with Philly, according to Polymarket. Hill paired with DeVonta Smith would be lethal — and help replace AJ Brown’s production. 👀

The Redskins logo was changed to the "tucked feather" logo in 1982 due to an issue with the adhesive on the helmet decal, which caused the feathers to peel off from the helmet shell. The team found another adhesive that wouldn't peel and changed back to their normal logo in 1983.

The Atlanta Falcons’ 1968 uniform marked a brief but distinct moment in franchise history. The team replaced the falcon logo on their jersey sleeves with a striped design, pairing it with their original red helmets and white pants. The following year the NFL introduced its first league-wide jersey patch to commemorate the league’s 50th anniversary. All teams, including the Falcons, wore the patch on the left shoulder, making it a notable visual milestone across the league. After this period, the Falcons began to shift their visual identity. The team removed the gold stripe from their helmets and leaned more heavily into red as their dominant color, supported by black and white accents, a direction that would influence their branding for years to come. This image captures linebacker Tommy Nobis during Week 4 against the Green Bay Packers. Known as “Mr. Falcon,” Nobis was a cornerstone of the franchise. He led the team in tackles for nine of his eleven seasons, earned five Pro Bowl selections, and was named First-Team All-Pro twice. Nobis also holds a unique place in team history. Selected in the first round of the 1966 NFL Draft, he became the first player in Atlanta Falcons history and immediately established himself as a foundational figure during the team’s inaugural season.

Though I doubt they go all black so soon after going all white (with their Winter Warrior alternate), the Vikings did flirt with the idea of a black alternate before. In 2004, they worked with Reebok on a few different concepts that included multiple variations of a black jersey, until it was ultimately scrapped. On another note, they considered multiple versions of a gold jersey during that process as well 👀
