@itboypercy Its also a result of being at the right place at the right time. There was heavy anti-incumbency & ADMK would have capitalised if not for Vijay. And yes, there is no reason for people to have any superiority complex anymore. 😂

@Deep_Take001 Yeah but this is unprecedented all the other actors that contested and won had experience and good mentors and parties with identity and policy. Someone like Vijay winning with a party with no identity like this is truly a shame

It's really not comparable tho😭 mgr's mentor was THEE annadurai and he had years of political experience before founding his party. Vijay getting votes is indeed far more comparable to Bihar voting for a random singer who has no political acumen than it is comparable to mgr

How are ppl acting surprised about an actor doing well in TN? Like MGR wasn't a superstar who had blind backing. Like Jayalalithaa wasn't an actress. Like Rajinikanth dint sway the election results with one interview in 1996.

@itboypercy Even if you ignore MGR, it's a fact that Rajinikanth himself would have won in the 90s if he had the guts to contest elections. His one interview ensured that ADMK lost in 1996. My larger point was about ppl being surprised that TN voters can trust and 'actor'.

@Deep_Take001 @aravint_2107 Not really. Chennai was still dmk's league only. Even anti incumbency will always be less in Chennai compared to other places in TN. Vijay was expected to win 2 seats in Chennai. Rest laan surprising thaan.

This is the least surprising thing about TN. The fact that he's leading in his very first election is the surprise. Not that fact that TN people are trusting an 'actor'. 😂
