Right final window thoughts now North End have confirmed Armstrong is the final signing For the money we have spent, I think we’ve done very well. Some good frees, invested in a couple of players with resale in Small and Offiah, some very impressive loan signings

All the preseason concerns on show there. Lack of any kind of control or creativity, our two modes of attack have been long ball to Smith or long diagonal to Small. Only first 45 but on that performance it’s gonna be more of the same, desperately lacking quality

@danjcottam @Browny___ i just don’t see that mix right now so hopefully it comes. We gave 783 minutes to U21 players last season and 776 were for Meghoma. All our minutes for 22 and 23 year olds last season were KKH and Greenwood - none of them here now

@Browny___ @DeepdaleDigest All the best squads have a mix of youth and professionals. I'm happy with only 4/5 young players who develop well, if the rest of the squad is built of players with experience.

I can at least understand their roles but my concerns are - Hecky highlighted needing younger players but all three are 27+ - their of minutes recently. across the three, they started just 26 league games last season. Alright squad players, hopefully major quality comes later

(For avoidance of doubt, Iversen certainly first choice but squad players referring to Valentin/Thompson)

@grarmymanc That was more for Thompson and Valentin tbf but yes happy with Iversen - time will tell whether he recaptures his previous form mind you
