@mhdksafa The thing is, these pollutants will end up in the air anyway. This way, they can stop Russia or at least slow it down.

I don't think people understand the gravity of the situation linked to the strikes on oil depots in Russia, Ukraine, Iran, Arab states, and beyond. This is a picture of Moscow now, as Kyiv yesterday, as Tehran before, as many Arab states the day before. Covered in thick black toxic clouds of smoke, raining oil on millions of people with cancerous polluted air entering every lung. People breathing this. Animals breathing this. Trees breathing this. A humanitarian and environmental catastrophe. Bombing oil depots and oil infrastructures has serious environmental and humanitarian consequences. Hazardous "black rain" and "acidic rain" could pose serious health risks as toxic pollutants spread in the air, and contaminated the water—raise concerns of "wider regional pollution exposure", with the long-term effects of pollutants, affect respiratory health and contaminate water, that will affect people for years. Every bomb dropped on an oil depots is a time bomb for the people and the planet. This has moved beyond geopolitics. It's a crime against humanity. We have reached a point where merely criticizing one side of a conflict for violating international law exposes us to targeting by the other—and vice versa! It is as if the killing of human beings, the destruction of nations, and destroying of the planet have become normalized and commonplace, or as if the guiding principle of humanity has become "an eye for an eye." Such a mindset and the hate speech directed against any nation have no place in our modern world. If you believe this’s an act of advocacy, you are mistaken; one must condemn violations of international law and human rights, even if committed by one’s own country or party. This is the true meaning of the rule of law applying to everyone, and it is how we achieve peace and prosperity for everyone, everywhere.

Cross-chain systems still need someone to keep them running. But depending heavily on them creates risk. Hyperbridge reduces that risk by verifying cross-chain messages with cryptographic proofs and opening proof generation to anyone.

@hydration_net What backs up the APR? Is it inflation, is it tokens released into circulating supply, or is it there a value stream, that buys HDX of the market?

I wish I could feel more hopeful about Polkadot. I think the product roadmap of Parity is the right approach. Products for People But there is a complete unwillingness to engage with The People who The Products are supposed to be for. - The EU parliament reaffirms chat control (while circumventing parliamentary procedures). Polkadot is silent on it. - The USA drifts into authoritarianism, open corruption, and crony capitalism. Polkadot is silent on it. - Iran, Russia, India, Myanmar, Hong Kong dismantle free speech and block Internet access. Polkadot is silent on it. - Canada, Argentina, Venezuela freeze bank accounts and establish capital controls. Polkadot is silent on it. - China and Nigeria are herding people into state-run CBDCs. Polkadot is silent on it. It's clear to everyone with a brain that the new Polkadot app ecosystem around the pillars of individuality, privacy, money, and programmability is supposed to put an end to corrupt regimes. And yet Polkadot manages to make it the best kept secret in the world. This cannot work. Polkadot is and was always political. There is no pretending it is not. We are cypherpunks and anarchists and our goal is to free humanity from slavery, surveillance, state-organized theft and control. Yes, Products for People. But that means the People need to know that you are for them. That you build for them. That there is an alternative. And a movement to join. Technology is always a tool. A tool is not the revolution. The revolution is made by people who use tools. You cannot build the tool without building the movement. And waiting for the tool to complete and blocking the movement is an insanely dangerous idea. Building in the open has never hurt a revolution. Just build the movement and add the tools as they arrive. Not the other way around. But the founder is instead afraid that his ideas for how to assemble the perfect revolutionary toolbelt might get stolen. So he would rather have his employees not engage too much with the People they are supposed to save. A revolution without people is like a Betamax casette without a player. Thus it is hard for me to feel hopeful about Polkadot. And I wish I could.

@Deepmin3 @Bifrost Because operational & maintenance costs are now higher with the new hyperbridge stack. That's why we have decided to stop using Hyperbridge service. The Hyperbridge tech itself is probably more reliable than ever, but costs matter with our the Bifrost omni-chain stack.

Open-source code is only the beginning. The harder part is opening the process. @Polkadot’s underlying infrastructure is governed by a decentralized community of organizations, DAOs, and individual contributors. Not just used by them. That means open specification processes, clear discussion venues, and a workflow where anyone can discover, debate, and contribute to the protocol itself. The code is public. What we demonstrated at @Web3Summit were open-source prototypes running on an ephemeral demo-net. That is where it starts. github.com/paritytech

Strange life. Doing this for free, for people I'll never meet, against people who earn tens of thousands a year selling "web3" and "decentralization," then milk what's left of the community like cattle. Someone has to.

The "Polkadot App" has been "coming" since 2024. The community now pays over a million dollars for it. Almost nobody has noticed who's actually building it, or that there is still no launch date. Let me lay it out. 🧵

Two days at @Web3Summit. One through-line. Digital life has defaults. Who controls your identity. Who holds the keys. Who decides what you can access and on what terms. Most people just accept that. What if there is an alternative? Web3 is not a progression of Web2. It is a different answer to the same question. No logins. No installs. Mathematically guaranteed privacy. Technology built around people, not platforms.

Believe me or not, but I am excited about our next (technical) steps and esp. integration of ZisK almost as much as when we set our roadmap 5y-6y ago. Not just bc its bleeding edge, but it WORKS TODAY. When we tried it, it felt like magic. Ofc it needs to be more battle tested. But there is finally real solution for SYNCHRONOUS composability between Ethereum mainnet, rollups and maybe even other chains which will be huge liquidity unlock for us. Then I will unleash my autistic passion and creativity for DeFi at even bigger scale :) Once again, @hydration_net will be able to tap into liquidity sitting in Aave, Uniswap and other big protocols on mainnet and maybe across other chains. Near intents are finally at stage of internal testing. GIGAHDX finally going live. 1 unannounced product which will be heads down best crypto savings product coming shorly after. More scalable & robust rwa sources of yield in the works. Team is leaner, more accountable and even more committed, efficient and working harder. Same as with relationships, love, job, whatever, you can’t feel maximum amount of excitement everyday in year 5-6. On the other hand it never felt more “real” or aged. Similar to fine wine, year 5 is when its just getting serious and interesting. Thanks for your patience in the process of aging of @hydration_net 🫡 PS: Ofc it could be written in more hypey way and promise you world peace and solving world hunger. We wanted to give you a small, short update which would not put you in sleep and prove you we are not just kicking the can down the road.
