🇩🇪Germany’s future F127 frigates are moving closer to a 🇺🇸U.S.-built combat core.
The United States has approved a possible $11.9 billion package including Aegis-based systems and SPY-6 radars for up to eight ships. The sale is not final, but it confirms the scale of Berlin’s ambition for next-generation naval air and missile defense.

Japan’s Shiraha drone points to a different logic in military UAV development.
Developed by startup JISDA, the ACM-01 Shiraha is reportedly priced at around ¥70,000 (under $450) and appears to be designed less as a premium platform than as a low-cost, replaceable training drone built for volume.
The signal here is not just the price. It is that even in Japan, drone thinking is increasingly shifting toward mass, affordability, and faster operator training.

7/7. Lockheed Martin is not just pitching a new short-range interceptor. It is showing how it could build it at scale. The company has demonstrated full-scale NGSRI final assembly for the U.S. Army, highlighting the industrial side of the future Stinger replacement.
In today’s SHORAD race, manufacturability and production capacity matter almost as much as missile performance.

6/7. The UK Ministry of Defence plans to acquire Skyhammer interceptor missiles and launchers from Cambridge Aerospace to strengthen its counter-drone capabilities. The system is intended to intercept Shahed-type drones, with a range of about 30 kilometers and a top speed of 700 km/h. Initial deliveries are expected to begin as early as May.

🇪🇸Indra is deepening its role in one of 🇪🇺Europe’s most important submarine programs.
The Spanish group has signed a new contract with Kongsberg to equip 6 additional Type 212CD submarines with electronic warfareand radar systems, on top of the 6 already covered.
This reinforces the idea that undersea superiority now depends not only on stealth, but also on digital sensing, EW, and combat system integration.

🇨🇦Canada is putting real money behind ammunition sovereignty.
Ottawa is investing C$1.4 billionto expand domestic ammo production through the CDIR Program, with a clear focus on rebuilding a more complete 155mm supply chain at home.
This is not just about volume. It is about industrial resilience, supply security, and reducing dependence on foreign suppliers.

In Arctic 🇳🇴Norway, 🇬🇧UK Commandos used the Malloy T-150 not to replace mortars, but to keep them moving.
By carrying 81mm mortar components and ammunition in extreme cold, the drone helped sustain firepower while reducing the load on troops. That is the real value of tactical logistics drones: preserving mobility and combat endurance.

🇰🇷The South Korean Navy is preparing to field its indigenous CIWS-II as the new standard close-in defense system for its ships.
Developed by LIG Nex1 and Hyundai Wia, the system combines a fixed four-face AESA radar with a 30 mm Gatling gun, providing greater firepower than the 20 mm Phalanx. The lead Ulsan Batch-III frigate, ROKS Chungnam, was delivered without the system, with installation planned once mass production begins.
CIWS-II is expected to equip future South Korean warships, including the KDDX.
