My 18 year old grandson just turned old enough to vote. I made him sit down and read every candidate statement in California's official voter guide because I wanted him to make an informed choice.What he saw really upset him. In the governor section a fringe candidate named Don J Grundmann put in a full page of hateful anti semitic conspiracy theories. He claimed Israel did 9/11, Israel killed Charlie Kirk, Jews call Christians Amalek and see non Jews as cattle to be enslaved, and that Judeo Christian values don't even exist. No photo just pure hate mailed to millions of homes by the state. My grandson has Jewish blood from one side and Christian grandparents from the other. He grew up believing Christianity and Judaism are connected sharing the same God and moral roots. Reading this official government document scared him. He looked at me and asked how he is supposed to feel safe saying he is Jewish if stuff like this is allowed. This isn't just free speech. Its the state giving legitimacy to hatred. A kid trying to learn about democracy shouldn't have to face this in the official ballot guide.California we can do better. @SecretaryWeber @GavinNewsom this happened on your watch. Been reading some old late 2010s Linda Sarsour BS, and she was running the exact same playbook on the "progressive left" that the Woke Right is running on the "new right" today regarding Israel, just hitting moral language and specific issues relevant to Leftists. Same thing.
