@Deithesis They're a good band with former members of At The Gates with a more hardcore sound in their music.

I couldn't sleep all night & after many hours of tossing and turning, I'll just get the albums from 1998 on here because why not since I'm up already. 🤷‍♂️ Also, Yattering was a Death Metal band before during experimental stuff and then eventually breaking up. That's a shame.

Day #3 of my journey to discover the hidden gems of the Progressive Metal genre! I’ll be posting a “Song of the Day” for every favorite I find! Song Of The Day: The River Dragon Has Come by Nevermore I’ll be honest, I really don’t know why I hadn’t checked this band out sooner! Considering how much I LOVE the three Sanctuary albums that came before this! What I appreciate most about this band is when the three original members from Sanctuary formed this, they could’ve EASILY made it another Thrash band. BUT instead they added a new element to their song writing. Working more with odd time signatures and prolonged guitar passages that REALLY gives these songs a unique feel! And HOLY FUCK do these guys have a great run of albums! I mean, is there any BETTER three album run than Dreaming Neon Black, Dead Heart In A Dead World and This Godless Endeavor? Not many I think can top THAT! Out of those three, I think ‘Dead Heart’ is my FAVORITE upon first listen! I just think the riffs are absolutely CRUSHING on this album! The guitar tone here is FUCKING KILLER and Warrel Dane’s vocals are the BEST on this IMO! It was REALLY hard to pick a favorite song from this album! But really this bands whole CATALOG is amazing! I’m SO glad I finally gave this band a listen, even if it was for any niche post series on X 😂🤘🏻

So, I've decided to give Black Metal another chance. There are some I enjoy with Dissection, Unanimated & The Moaning so far. Today; I have 4 bands to listen to. - Thulcandra - Sacramentum - Old Man's Child - Necrophobic Yes, they have Death Metal mix in but it's a start.

@Metalheader_13 Apart from the obvious big releases Arcane, Sacrifice, Acid Reign and Aggressor used to get played a lot.

1990 looks like a fun ride because it was if you want to go into an intense rollercoaster of mad headbangers. The 2nd picture is the album that didn't load up. As always, any favorites you find here? Edit: I completely missed Dio's Lock Up the Wolves on here. My apologies.
