@jpegdude32 While the ARG definitely does use WTD’s gameplay to its advantage, it does not NEED the game to exist. This concept could be explored in any game you love. The creators of the series just like the game and wanted to make it the setting.

ddt33 would not be nearly as interesting if deivy had some evil ass demon making him play the game, rather than him going into this rabbit hole out of his own vollition, he took a look at the abyss, and wanted to see what looked back.
