That famed company has indeed built an aggressive, widening moat, but it is heavily subsidised by a broken macroeconomic environment (FX barriers and import tariffs) rather than pure product innovation.

I just saw a post graduate research topic in the UK: “Food, Power, and the Vote: A Political Economy Analysis of Rice in Nigeria’s Democratic Process.” The fact that this is even a viable topic tells you how thoroughly dysfunction has been institutionalized.

Memories are hard to forget. Drove past an area earlier where one of the two people with whom we concluded a business dropped dead a few weeks later, without any underlying medical condition, & it's frightening remembering what a dove the gentleman was & his support at the time.

Kagame often treats Rwandans like children. It's what happens when a leader has had unlimited power for 32 years and wins "elections" with 99% of the vote.

@TheYemiKing @lakunle70 Many factors are responsible, though. Bad roads: poor culture of cleaning off puddles from the wheels, and despite the ubiquity of car wash stands, we still don't have high-grade car wash shops — nah @lakunle70 go dey fork out ₦15,000 for a single wash 4 times a month?

If history repeats, TW seems to have a pattern where minor accidents often precede bigger family issues. Meanwhile, I noticed the pristine state of the overturned car's underbelly. I wonder how many used vehicles in Nigeria have such a clean underbelly?

I have been invited to join a 10km bike ride tomorrow I have politely turned it down 1. I don't own one (I was told I'd be given one to ride😁😁) 2. I haven't sat on a bicycle in more than 20years, the last time I tried, I ended up on the ground I don't want to lose my teeth 🤣

Everything from Camden Market to the Admiral Duncan pub and central London Harry Potter stores are owned by shell companies in tax havens. For years, they hid the identities of their real owners. Today, @AndrewKersley pulls back the curtain. the-londoner.co.uk/we-reveal-the-…
