@Clint_Davey1 Rommel believed the Brits and Canadians were the greater threat and concentrated his forces against them. Caen also being the hinge point of the front. Shame that Hollywood and writers like Stephen Ambrose never give them the credit for their sacrifice.

One of the largest concentrations of SS Panzer Divisions in the entire war was in Caen in 1944. The British faced this, while the Americans were battling through the bocage to the west. Caen was the key to the whole Normandy campaign and the Germans were willing to throw in a lot of men and tanks to defend it. The battles around Caen became known as "Monty's Meatgrinder". A charnel house littered with the wrecks of Cromwells, Shermans, Panzer IV's, Panthers and tons of other equipment. Have to hand it to the Brits for slogging it out in this battle.

@GayRepublicSwag I wake up at 4:40am to do my work out..this morning, the alarm clock woke me up. I usually wake before hand..I had no desire to move. I knew I would be disgusted with myself if I broke the routine. that feeling is worse than any extra weight or cardio guilt I feel.

I need some help! I’ve been doing so great with my 6 mile daily walks, even doing 7 miles yesterday and the day before, but today I am just struggling to get up and get out there! I am serious about my health and wellness journey but today is a hard day! Please give me some words of encouragement! Get me moving!

@markherman54 Just before playing A Most Fearful Sacrifice last summer, I read that book through the day 1 chapters. I then played all the day 1 scenarios. Next month I will start reading through day 2 chapters and play the day 2 scenarios.

@Clint_Davey1 I played in a viernam war miniatures crawl. We had to get to a downes chopper in the jungle. The table was laid out as we walked the trails. Ambushed, booby traps. Was every bit D&D but in the nam. Intense way to play a minis game..

Is there a historical equivalent of dungeon crawling? Like, small groups of mercenaries or explorers or knights going into an unknown, dangerous, maybe subterranean world to find loot?
