@CorkGourmetGuy Agreed. And I went out as I didn't have a foam or anything similar, just good honest food. And I also changed my mind last minute on what to cook - foolish.

@DelicateDiner I have friends who are previous winners, I understand how it is edited but I am talking about watching people working on messy benches, not shots after they are done. All seemed more interested in trying of show fancy techniques instead of proper skills.

Masterchef is just people trying to cook elaborate technical dishes without ever learning the basics of how to work like a chef so that they can properly execute the timing and processes to do them correctly. Every bench looks like a bombsite when they're done. #Masterchef

@CorkGourmetGuy I agree. My point is what you see on TV & the reality are two different things. I was on the programme. I left a tidy bench. I came back and it was messy - to create, what, talk, drama, chaos? I don't know. But what you see on screen & what goes on in the kitchen are different.

@DelicateDiner I'm someone who became a professional chef at 35 by starting out as a commis at a hugely busy SW London bar and restaurant, so I know what it takes to do so. All the fluid gels and foams in the world won't help if you can't work fast, work tidy and have good knife skills.
